My point exactly! Bet the guy in the suit knows.
Re: Muslim boy in India beaten black and blue for posing with Hindu girls
I am not trying to prove the existence or prevalence of Hindu extremism. On the contrary, I don't think its a big enough issue to warrant a survey. Now if you are concerned about it, why don't you provide the survey ? We can resume this discussion once you have that.
P.S. I am sure some "objective" Indians on this forum can help you with that ;)
I didnt think Muslim extremism was big enough to warrant a survey until there were terrorist attacks warranting such a survey. You clearly believe there is a need for such survey as of muslims. Likewise, I would agree that Hindu extremism isnt so big and doesnt warrant such surveys but for the THOUSANDS that have been killed BY Hindu extremists. Not to mention the existence of Hindu extremist organizations which actively and vigorously promote extremist ideology and clearly find support in the govt.... For godsakes, you have places in India that are segregated by religion!
If any country needs a survey, it would be the inherently communal India.

You strike me as being extremely xenophobic.
Fear the Muslims enough to be "concerned" over polls in which 24 percent think violence can be justified. But Hindu extremism in a country like India with a long sorted history of dealing with Hindu extremists is not a big enough problem to warrant a survey.
We always fear the "other" don't we...
Re: Muslim boy in India beaten black and blue for posing with Hindu girls
I find the logic that if something does not impact someone directly, they should stay out of it. In fact EVEN if something does not impact someone directly they should speak up against injustice.
Also I find it disturbing that one can simply trivialize such incidents. Shows lack of objectivity at the least.
Hindu extremism in India doesnt concern some Indians, but 24 percent of Muslims in UK are a reason to worry...
i mean how much misery have these people caused in India and its still not "big enough" problem...

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to decipher why Islam is the focus of such surveys or xenophobia. If you want to prove that other religions need to be scrutinized as much, be my guest. But you will need facts to make your case.

When using data to do analysis, the conclusions are mostly relative. Have people died because of Hindu extremists ? Yes. Is Hindu extremism a big enough global problem as Islamic extremism? No.
If you think otherwise, provide data points. Otherwise, its just wishful thinking on your part.
Hindu extremism in India doesnt concern some Indians, but 24 percent of Muslims in UK are a reason to worry...

You should visit India and see for yourself. No other way to convince you that there is no "big problem".
Not sure this debate is going anywhere, so unless you have facts/data points to back up your arguments we will just keep spinning our wheels.

Sorry. If I agree with you I will be labeled self loathing. Got to go with my objective buddy here.
Re: Muslim boy in India beaten black and blue for posing with Hindu girls
Fact 1700 muslims massacred in Gujarat under current PM Modi's stewardship. The same person concerned with 24 pct of Muslims in UK strongly denies Modi involvement.
I rest my case your honor.
Re: Muslim boy in India beaten black and blue for posing with Hindu girls
I wasnt talking about the “global” impact of Hindu extremists, im only talking about their effect on INDIA, and to minor extent her neighbor Pakistan. In the context of India, Hindu extremism IS dangerous. Certainly more dangerous then Muslim extremism.
You should visit the UK and realize that its also not a “big problem.”
I dont know what sort of facts your looking for or data. The problem is, THERE IS NO DATA.. Because aparently, you Indians dont think Hindu extremism is a big enough problem to warrant a survey in your own words. lol.
Fact is that VHS, RSS are considered by many to be hindu extremist groups and their thriving. India has a long history of Hindu extremism and that has resulted in many deaths. That’s a fact. Babri Mosque riots, Ahmedabad riots:
Here Christian beaten and threatened in Bihar
Hindu Extremists Resolve to Kill Christians They Beat in Bihar, India
India: Christians Beaten, Jailed in Hindu Extremist Attack - Christian News Headlines
Hindu extremists ‘will attack Valentine’s Day couples’ - Telegraph
Hindu terrorism charges force India to reflect on prejudices against Muslims
Now I can attest tat UK muslims are certainly far more peaceful and law abiding then these Hindu extremists in India are, yet your afraid of the UK’s muslims but give a pass to these Hindu vigilantes? Doesnt that make you look a bit bigoted ?
Re: Muslim boy in India beaten black and blue for posing with Hindu girls

I wonder why BBC carried out the survey if its not a "big problem" in UK. Evidently, they know something more than you and I.

Because we always fear the other. Another words, people are afraid, they want to know what Muslims are thinking. That's what responsible people do. When they want to ascertain something, they collect data.
I was responding to YOUR assertion however, that going to visit a place is enough to gleam what the people there believe (You said come visit India). You would never know there were an issue in the UK from meeting people. Likewise, you could never know the extent of the problem in India simply by "visiting" a place. That makes no sense.
Now we know that India has a long history of Hindu extremism. Thousands off people have died at the hands of hindu fanatics. Now your going to tell me that isnt a reason to be concerned ? If your even remotely sincere then answer the following questions honestly :
Can you tell me how many people have been killed in England at the hands of Muslims extremists compared to the number of people killed in India by Hindu extremists?
ps. Unlike you, I dont think Indians are so irresponsible as to not do surveys on the nature of extremism in their own society, despite the fact that we cant find it through Google. Someone among the Billion of you must have wondered how many Hindus harbor extremist views.

But to get back to the point...
In case you got lost along the way, im challenging your sincerity. Anotherwords, I dont think your concerned about actual extremism or terrorism, since you selectively focus on Muslims. If you had even a shred of honesty and fairness in you, you would wonder why there isn't any focus on hindu extremists, considering all the news out lately about these "conversions" and the general brazenness of Hindu extremist groups lately. It seems you single out Muslims for criticism while giving your own people a pass. Thats the very definition of bias.
Hindus are all peaceful and nice, but your "concerned" by 24 percent of UKs Muslims. Give me a break, your not fooling anyone with this bs.

Pls elaborate on the "long history" of Hindu extremism. You seem to know something that the rest of the world does not. And while you are at it, pls also list the terrorist acts carried out by Hindus/Hindu organizations in the name of Hinduism. The only example I hear from you people is Gujarat riots which was a religious riot in which both sides were involved. Why don't you talk about partition where thousands were killed from both sides ?
You are missing the basic point - surveys are carried out about Muslim extremism because that is a very real global problem. You can bury your head in the sand, and pretend that Hindu (or Jewish/Christian/Budhist) extremism is as big a problem but no one really buys that. If they did, they would be carrying out surveys about other groups too.

The BBC survey was about Muslims, so the discussion focused on Muslims despite your attempts at deflection. If there is a story about Hindu extremism, pls share and we can debate that.
I am not going to become defensive and pretend that there aren't extremists elements/views among Hindus. But to say that Hindu extremism is as big a problem as Islamic extremism is delusional. A majority of problems that your country is facing is due to religious extremism, and guess what the predominant religion in Pakistan is.
Ok, I am done now. You can go take a break.
