Muslim autobiographies

I am looking for Muslim autobiographies or diaries. I have searched a lot but with little success.

I am mainly interested in memoirs of soldiers in battlefields, recounts of people during early muslim era and the Mongol invasion of thirteenth century and the narrations of people from far of places where Islam spread quite lately like China, South East Asia, North America etc…

I am currently reading the Adventurs of Ibn Batuta by Ross E Dunn. I just finished Naima B Robert’s From my sister’s lips which was absolutely fascinating.

I hope people here know more.

Jazak Allah.

Re: Muslim autobiographies

There are many out there. Also try Zainab Ghazali's 'The Return of the Pharaoh'

Re: Muslim autobiographies

Long time ago I read a book probably titled somewhere along the lines of the greatest muslims or greatest 100 muslims that contained mini biographies of many muslim personalities over the past few centuries. It wasn't all that of a great read but proved to be a stepping stone towards more detailed biographies

Re: Muslim autobiographies

One of the best is "Babar - Nama" autobiography of Zaheerud din Muhammad Babar Translated from Turki by Annette S. Beveridge.

Babar became Ruler of Farghana at age 12, and at 18 yrs old writes a letter to Ibrahim Lohdi claiming his right to the throne of Hindustan, through Timur Lane his Great Grand Father who had conquered it a few years earlier.
Babar followed through and conquered Hindustan at age 44.

One Book worth reading......:)

Re: Muslim autobiographies

these people were turko-mongol pagans in the guise of muslims , Islam had not affected either their debauched lifestyles nor their barbaric traits ....and they were in conflict with primitive pagans native of india which we call hindus who were equally brutal and subhuman
