musically yours. dont read if you hate headaches.

if you’re an avid music listener like me, you’d relate to this.

ever noticed how as time passes, the present becomes the past, partly forgotten and partly remembered by photos, videos, sounds etc.

whats funny is some parts of the past are strictly remembered by music. lets say for example 6 years ago when the Batman movie was out, seal’s kiss from a rose was a hot number. if you happened to listen to that song alot, that little section of the past gets etched in that song.

6 years have passed now. the song is off the charts, the cd is somewhere in the corner of your pile of music getting scratched to death. on your way to work you hear that song on the radio. within seconds you you are taken back in time. back in the time when you gave a little damn about anything. back when you were free and full of energy like an unhinged tidal wave.

dont you just love the feeling? i do.

as i type out this little post, im listening to a few track by Paul Hardcastle. he’s a really amazing jazz artist. theres 7 songs in my winamp right now and the album’s repeated for about 30 times now.

soon i will forget this guy and his music. and then i will stumble upon these tracks any amount of time later, say 3-4 years. and then will i remember, and think to myself, what the hell was i doing posting those infinitely long posts ???

The other say I was listening to Roxette ‘She’s got the look’ :dhimpak: and I felt that I have gone back in time…

You are not a wierdo…Trust me! or maybe both of us are.. :konfused: :smack:

I’m getting a hang of smilies :smooth:

so very true :-)

BoSS, where’d you dig out this thread from ?!

:)

Roxette! now that was a long time ago!

You're absolutely right Sherj. Each year for me is signfified by a group of songs. Some songs I absolutely hate because of the period I was going through, so every time I hear them I want to puke.

I remember when I was 7-8 years old and Madonna was really popular, Like a Virgin was a real hit. I used to jump around the house screaming "Like a Virgin..." I even knew all the words and had made up a dance to the song. When I now think about it I cringe, obviously back then I didnt know what the song meant, I wonder why my parents never stopped me.

er I just noticed this was an old thread. I was wondering, coz Chee doesn't post stuff like this and it was kind of surprising. How come nobody replied to your thread Chee? I guess thats why you stopped posting them huh and instead started making rude remarks in everyone else's threads :p

Re: musically yours. dont read if you hate headaches.

Re: musically yours. dont read if you hate headaches.

soo true!

but y is most of the time it is a sad memory related to music....

Re: musically yours. dont read if you hate headaches.

My husband and I can't change the radio station sometimes because a certain song will come on that reminds us of childhood or some other event. Even if it's not a reallly good song or one of our favorites we still have to listen to it. Mostly '80's pop tunes.

"There is always something there to remind me" is one such song.

Re: musically yours. dont read if you hate headaches.

very true...certains songs have a the memory of part of my life and listening to them opens the little box in my mind to bring back to memories and feelings and emotions
