Music has been expressly prohibited in many Ahaadith. Among the dominant purposes of our beloved Prophet hazrat mohammed-e-mustapha :saw: was to destroy musical instruments. (Mishkat vol.2)

the time spent in listening to music can be used for
reciting or listening to recitation of Koran.
jo music sunntaa he , he or she will never have the
understanding of Koran and they can never appreciate the
recitation.
Music is totally haram ......
It is said to be like azan of shaitan is music ....it produces nifaq in ur heart ..may ALLAH save us from music ....
most rather nearly all muffasirs agree that word * laho wa laab * primarily mean music .....
u dont need evidence from any book....
just ask ur heart....
does music acompany good or evil????
If music is Haram
then I wonder why AnHz Mohammad :saw: allowed the Ansar girls, when they celebrated coming of AnHz Mohammad :saw: from makkah to median.
Plz provide also ALL Hadith which doesnt allow us to listen to music!
Cuz music doesnt mean evil, when we sing about Islam!!!
^
we very well know what the meaning of MUSIC was when the post was put up....
the generally accepted meaning of the word "music" is definitely not allowed in Islam....

I don't see how classical music per se accompanies evil???? Often, the great composers were great thinkers as well of their time e.g. Mozart, Bach etc.
music mai kia kia shamil hai .e.g ager may heer (waris shah) parhtha
hoon to kia yah bhi haram hai ya phir may ghalib/faiz ki koi koi ghazal parhta hoon.
bao bihari sahib may nay apnay dil say poocha to mujhay to is ka yahi jawab mila kay music haram nahi hai .ap pls koi hadith bata saktay hai jis may music ko haram karaar diya gaya ho

first justify listening to the voice of a woman for who u r not a mehram, and then we can go on to the words being uttered....
same goes for girls who listen to the 'pleasing' words from na-mehram men singing....

hmmm............
.....then you justify why you are not only reading and listening (perhaps in audio) but actually are talking/interacting with na-mehraam girls here on GS???
anyway, I've again listened to the 5th symphony of Beethoven's and honestly i don't find a clue why that shud be deemed evil per se?

and how did u assume i listen to audio here on GS????
and what's in writing????
do men and women have a difference in the way they write????
or when u read an article written by a lady u feel sexually aroused????
or, even if i do talk to girls and interact with them, it does not mean that Islam permits it....

as i said in parenthesis: 'perhaps in audio', so i meant, perhaps you listened in audio, but even if you don't the point of reading remains.

by the same token: what's wrong when listening to a ghazal by a lady? does a neutral ghazal sung by Abida Parveen make u feel aroused? at least, i doesn't so to me....
anyway, what about classical music? there isn't text involved in that
Even if you play music infront of an innocent toddler, he will start moving (dancing). Yeh bhi haraam hai according to the mollahs.
You know whats worse? People issuing fatwas against music, and themselves listen to it. Hypocrites. Us se behtar woh log hain who listen to music and believe its not haraam.
