Re: Music is good [split: MUSIC RETURNING TO AFGHANISTAN]
ok so is music haram or no? Yes or no answer please....
Han hanh han. mosiqi beshaq haraam hain. But because I am not a muslim, I get to hear it and you don't. On the other hand muslim men can have a wife and have a mutaa'h saheli also. So they have their advantages.
Re: Music is good [split: MUSIC RETURNING TO AFGHANISTAN]
Uberella, Majority of the Ullema in Islam, have stated music* as haram. And they have there rationale for it.
Now if a certain individual has another opinion, he/she cannot call them all a "Mullah" and say they're wrong. They have their beliefs and their reasonings for it.
A true concerned person should seek out why this is the case, why its haraam in Islam, and why many people do not listen to it.
On a personal note, my ears fall subject to music here and there, but I would consider that as my own sin (may allah swt forgive us) and would not justify it as right, just because I prefer it. I can respect people who listen to it, and from MY own perspective pray for myself and everyone to stay away from it.
However, you should also respect people who have given up music. Because then you would be imposing your views on others. Its like forcing a buddhist to commit murder.
I appreciate your concern, and I hope my post can help you better understand the situation.
Peace
Salaam Brother
According to four schools of thought musical instruments are haram, except the use of duff. Today some scholars do allow use of musical instruments for nasheeds and moral songs only.

that looks like some accommodations are being mode albeit slowly.
Regardless of the prior stance on music and musical instruments, it would be a good idea to just allow them and take all ambiguity out it. There are much bigger issues and IMO the banning of music is just making a majority of muslims look hypocritical - because every muslim I see around here and all college campuses is walking around with ear phones ....ofcourse who knows what they are listening to!
