Music is haraam, cuz it leads you to haraam. One day you might like the beat you're listening and totally forget the fact that you're listening to something obscene.

So.. if I am listening to some light classical music while doing some paperwork, how will it lead me to haraam?

What if the music I listen to isn't obscene?

Did you read any of my last four posts? Try answering some of those questions.

And I am still waiting for a verse which says that Music ALONE is haraam (i.e. when not associated with another activity).

So be careful how you make something Halal, with whatever lil knowledge we have.

We don't have enuff knowledge to pass on fatwas like this.

Just a personal question, do you actually look at why something is considered halaal/haraam before following it, or do you just follow because an Ulema said its halaal/haraam.

It’s melodic, and therefore definitely musical.
