Re: Is Music Haraam?
If you equate the feeling music gives your heart and soul and what stealing does, then perhaps you do need more stringent laws and others’ interpretations to go by.
While shariah law may ‘keep Laws of God in mind’, they are still man made laws based on someone’s interpretation. Now if you it were all based on the Quran, you could say that. But by basing laws on interpretation of hadith, it is still nothing more than man made laws (with Laws of God’s in mind).
Then why is the form of shariah the Taliban implemented so controversial among Muslims? They banned music, televison and the internet. And I don’t think they waited until you signed onto aol in a public square before they stopped you. Even if they didn’t break down your door, they did not permit it and access would be near impossible if you wanted it. There can be no 100% certainty to what shariah is, it is only the interpretation of whomever is running it.
It is very dangerous when man tries to implement God’s laws since they don’t have any more of a clue to how things are to be followed than the people here who don’t know whether or not music is haram.
