Music for walking down the aisle

Ladies, I need help choosing music for my civil ceremony. Note: the religious ceremony will be in the morning with like 20 people. But I’m doing a formal civil ceremony in the evening where all the guests are invited. My dad will be walking me down the aisle.

I’m looking for something slow enough to walk in but not super slow. Also, about half our guests are non-desi so the music can’t be “too desi” (hope this makes sense). But I don’t want something “western” either that’ll be easily recognized…:smack:

Hope this makes sense. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Music for walking down the aisle

I love this piano piece

Re: Music for walking down the aisle

the instrumental to Jashne Bahara is amazing!

Kabhie kabhie instrumental or just piano version

Re: Music for walking down the aisle

Thanks a lot for the options! :)

Re: Music for walking down the aisle

SheetMelodies(dot)com has bollywood sheet music that you can download and print out to give to a pianist to play for you- it's really cool I ordered from there for my wedding

Re: Music for walking down the aisle

luvblinz: Thanks! :)

Re: Music for walking down the aisle

no probs! :)

Re: Music for walking down the aisle

That's what I had on my nikkah!

Re: Music for walking down the aisle

In that case, look up A. R. Rahman’s instrumental music from the South Indian film industry because his bollywood tracks would be easily recognized.

How lovely is this! Munbe Vaa Instrumental - Music by AR Rahman - YouTube

You could easily edit the music using free software like Audacity to select the part you like best.

Re: Music for walking down the aisle

If you don't want something desi, then why not go with the classic "here comes the bride" instrumental? It would go with the civil ceremony and all and it's a familiar track that everyone recognizes.

Re: Music for walking down the aisle

^ LOL.......B/C everyone recognizing it immediately is not something I want as I mentioned in the original post. I'm looking for something a bit different and not heard too often at most desi and/or non-desi weddings.

Re: Music for walking down the aisle

So I had fiance listen to some selections last night.....so far instrumental to Jashne Bahara seems to be the winner. :) But I will look at a few other options before finalizing it.

Barbie: Thanks a lot for the music edit rec! I've never edited music and was wondering how to do it...lol. :)

Re: Music for walking down the aisle

No bother. It’s pretty easy. Just download Audacity Audacity - Download.com

Open it up and click on File → Import → Audio → and select whatever song you want to edit

This is what the imported file looks like:

Use the zoom in/out functions to precisely focus on the particular part of the song you want to cut or replicate or whatever

Highlight the part you want to edit and click on Edit → and select any editing function

You can also play around with Effects (I mostly use the fade in/out effects)

Once you’re happy with the song, click on File → Export → Save as a WAV file which you can then convert into mp3 or any other format if you want to using something like Online converter - convert video, images, audio and documents for free

Re: Music for walking down the aisle

is there any other program dat can be used to edit video and music.. or take music out of videos and make it audio...?

Re: Music for walking down the aisle

LOL, my bad. I read too fast and thought you said you want something that "everyone recognizes", haha.
Jashne Bahara instrumental is one of my favorites. You can use it for almost anything and it fits. There's also a Jashne Bahara acapella by Penn Masala if you want to do an acapella instead of an instrumental - it'll add to the "different" element.
