It is a very sensible decision by the government. These guys are hot head, terrorist. Looking at what is going on in Lebanon and Iraq, it is safe to say that these terrorist want nothing but civil war in our country. Most of these racits groups run out of steam and support from public. Sooner or later people of Pakistan will realize their facists agenda in the name of religion.
What makes me furious is double standard and hypocracy from religious leaders and parties. They cry foul about Mushrraf and others. Try to be the moral police, but when these groups and situations are present, they are AWOL. No condemnation, no outrage.

Lip service? Doesn't it sound like one. When Jamia Hafsa was formed in 1992 by the religious/ political leaders there motive was the same; to impose their will on others. Now when they have been exposed since 7/7 bombings, they are acting like out law and showing no regard for people's security.
The same Ullema and leaders can condem or stop these renegade behaviors and threats by nod.

Its safe to say that Mush has neither will or the capacity to serve and protect his people. Unfortunately, the fact that he refuses to reliquish power despite the obvious, means he is nothing bt a tin pot dictator without any teeth.

he can openly take out Nawab Bugti, a former cabinet minister and leader of atleast a significant number of Balochis, commander of a private army, but can't call up a commando-op against a bunch of religious thugs in Islamabad? wow.

Did you guys know that some male goons from Lal Masjid went and beat up a lady professor in QAU last week? A family freind knows that person and apparently there are rumors going around that unless the lady professors stop teaching there, they will be attacked with acid. :(

screw it, musharraf needs to grow some cojones and get rid of these ppl. and what an einstein going on bbs and saying we cant act against them because they may launch suicide attacks. Does he not know that this menace will always be hanging on our heads..sooner or later u have to deal with this monster and there would be militant responses by these goons. But why let them gain momentum...
and then to go and publically admit that you are scared. come on man this is way too much.
why doesnt he just outsource the cleansing to MQm then. call his pal altaf and have a few bus loads of MQm goons show up from karachi, problem solved in 30 mins. khel khatam paisa hazam.

If situation like these could be solved via rangers/ army interfereance, in short "taking out" individulas than Iraq would be peaceful by now.

i feel the same way you do, that is why in utmost deperation i wrote my rant a few weeks ago about mutual inconsequentiality and all. This is so fookin depressing.
atthis point I support no one in Pakisytan, not musharraf, not BB, Not Nawaz. Maybe teh answer is a real martial law with some other general. Rollback all damn freedoms and give qaum a danda for next few years.

Musharraf is right because this is what they want, violence. This is their main objective. Why make Islamabad the battle ground? It is not going to end their motive because they rely on propaganda. This war is not going to be won via guns rather right information.
Why turn Pakistan into a war zone?
What's going on is a desparate effort on their political leader's part to dismantle whatever good is going on in our country. Many countries like United States and Britian went through the same faze of eliminating extremist elements from their country. Recently, Turkey is going through it too. You need people to fight against it, not police or military. It will further divide the country.
There is nothing wrong in admiting fears. Does not make you a coward.
