Discarded Pakistani leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed once against showed how he has been one of the signings of the summer by firing Sussex to a big win over Warwickshire.
Having taken 4-55 in Warwickshire’s first innings on Saturday, his purple weekend continued with 7-85 on Sunday in the Bears’ second innings after the follow-on was enforced by Chris Adams.
Nick Knight and Michael Powell put on 135 for the first wicket but the innings rapidly subsisded to 196-5 with Mushtaq taking three of those wickets, and Mark Davis claiming the other two.
Ian Bell (37) and Dougie Brown (20) briefly offered resistance with a stand of 40 for the sixth wicket, but Mushtaq removed both of them to speed Sussex’s charge to victory.
Jason Lewry took the only wicket not to fall to a spinner when dismissing Melvyn Betts. That paved the way for Mushtaq to remove Waqar Younis and Alan Richardson with consecutive deliveries to wrap things up.
i think PCB should consider bringing him back in the squad along with saqlain mushtaq..

He is done for... Us ko buhat phenti parti thi in his last days in the team...
He is one of those players who are destructive in county version but don't do much in international cricket.
England has many players like that, Adam Hollioke comes to mind.
Waqar Younis has been quite dissappointing for his team this season, even the fact that he took 5 wickets in that inning but the opposition went on to score big.
Doesn't seems like Vicky is having a bad season. In 24 overs, he gave 99 runs and picked up 5 wickets. Just one no ball in the entire inning! Awesome! Rest of his team-mate bowlers got smashed and the batsmen didn't put up the fight, which is NOT Vicky's fault. :)

True but his overall performance so far in the season is dissappointing, compared to someone like Wasim who chips in with 3 or 4 wickers almost every innings.
I always considered him better than Warne but Warne kept going while Mushtaq never played international cricket, its too hard to rate him since I haven't seen him play since Windies tour in 2000.
mushtaq ahmed 1 of my all time fav' bowler i think he is doing wat he does best by proving the pcb selectors wrong, he isn't passed his prime yet, he in his last season in pak (2002 i think) was the highest wicket taker in the pak domestic league/championship but still wasn't considered for pak team and now this season so far he is the highest wicket taker in the frizzell county champioship with over 50 wickets and still he isn't picked for the pak team, ok pcb's policy is youngsters only as world cup in 2007 is in their mind, does that mean older players just stop playing this is unbelievable.
i say bring back saeed anwar, inzi, waqar, mushi, saqlain etc atleast for the test side if not the one day side as no specific targets are set in that game and there won't be a world cup to worry about in that area.
i personally believe if ur performing at ur best and are fit u should be picked regardless of ur age.
