Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi’s new book

I am impatiently waiting for my copy as naabigh has already got one for me and is in the process of mailing it. Thanks a bundle bro.

Aab -e- gum was a class, no doubt. But we have to keep in mind that the new book is written about 23 years later, with no other publication in between. It would be hard, even for Yousufi Sahab, to match the standards set in Aab e Gum.

And as I suspected, just by reading first two chapters, I sensed that Yousufi Sahab is trying very hard to maintain the "Yousufiat" in his writing, so much so that sometimes yousufiat is taking over the substance. Nevertheless, it's Yousufi, so very hard to put the book down one you start it.

Thanks to nabigh, I recieved the book last night. May Allah reward him for his love.

Read the last chapter and it is going to make you believe that ( God forbid) we aint going to see another book of him ! Not atleast in his life !

I bought it for Rs 900 from Fazlee books.

I think you got it from Jehangir Books (the publishers).

@Mirch Its not sold out. I saw around a dozen copies (First Edition) at Fazlees.

Got these from Al-Bilal Book Center. The additional discount was due to the quantity. I bought some other books too apart from 5 copies of sham-e-sher-e-yaraan.

I am halfway through it. Bought five copies from Urdu Bazaar @770PKR each. One for myself and remaining for friends. It’s not up to Aab e gumm’s sky high standards as rightly mentioned inthis article, but still very much a great read for all who admire and enjoy previous works of Yousufi Saheb.

The article you mentioned in your part is painfully blunt, but true.
