here is what i am looking for…
I want to make a DVD disk which has complete OS and all of my applications. The idea is to install all programs, addons, tweaks, etc on only one PC so that i don’t have to apply them in my other PCs… I would then wanna take that DVD and install the image on my other PCs. I don’t wana use Ghost… i think there is another way to do this … i want windows to install first with the native devices of the target PCs and then get a selection menu for the tools n apps …
One way is to slipstream your apps and windows into a single DVD. Slipstreaming is ususally used to inject service packs and additional devices into Windows, but some good programs will give you the choice of adding application programs too. Here is a guide on slipstreaming. (This guide uses Autostremer, but for any other program, the process will be almost the same.) http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/slipstream.htm
Yes you are right. I was first going to give a link to this site too.
This site is not intended for some one in search for specific topic and not used to the site. This is more like a forum. If some one is at ease with it and is sure what he wants to search, then this site is good; otherwise, just wastage of time (if some one is new and wants to find specific info).
thanks for the tips ... i am downloading a package (3.5GB) which has XP SP2 and lots of cool apps.. Here are the intructions to install the package.... i want to make something like that...
After Windows installation is complete, All the Apps below will be installable via an installation selectable menu. You will have 2 1/2 minutes to select any apps you want before the Automatically selected default selections will be used! If you want more time, simply click on the clock or make 1 selection and the timer will halt. Select only one of each firewall and Anti-virus! You should not install more than one instance of either. Once selections have been made, hit the Begin Install button at the top left and all your selections will be assimilated silently!
Use some sort of batch file to automate the process of installation. If not much familiar, find a good tutorial on batch files. These files can give you enough options to automate almost all sort of activities. Textual Menus can also be created through batch processing.
thanks,,, i will look it up.. i still think there is an easy way to do what BORG does..
kaleem Bhai, in the process that i am talking about ,, there is a native install of XP (clean install with device installation as well) In Ghost, u just clone the entire PC..
