how can emergency shut doen free media, if there was none to begin with as some suggested, how can he become a dictator if he was a dictator before. Are we collectively now realising that maybe things were not quite as bad before.

Now people will know what it was like before Musharraf first came to power in 1999 - no free media, no free judiciary, and no political opposition. This will make people realise that Musharraf did give Pakistani's all this freedom before this Emergency, and that were not there before 1999.
