All Pakistani channels have been getting time for interviews with the President lately. Last week he was on every evening on a new channel. The first was PJ Mir on Wednesday on ARY, then a foolish one on PTV with the freak Sahir Lodhi, then on Indus, then on Geo TV, with Aaj and TVOne pending.
I must say the one last night with GEO TV on the program “Jawab Deyh” with Iftikhar Ahmed, a real hawk, was very good and the best so far covering everything in good detail, plus Iftikhar is bold and it was good to see that the President was not bothered by his pinching style at all, rather he played along as naturally and confidently as he always does. Even Iftikhar seemed impressed.
One imp thing the president said was in response to the PPP-MMA raised allegations against him that he does not address the NA according to the article 56.
Here’s a short review;

*“I would urge the National Assembly to pass a bill to put an end to the kind of spiteful heckling and pandemonium that accompanies a presidential address to parliament,” he said.
President Musharraf has so far shied away from addressing parliament — a constitutional requirement under Article 56.
“And I am not making this suggestion because of my own concerns. I have seen this in the past. Since the presidential address is televised, there is an obvious need for formulating a code of conduct by lawmakers,” he explained.*
