Re: Musharraf to go with the Republicans?
So when the democrats, who by the way are poised to win, what will happen to Musharraf? The only thing thats keeping Musharraf in power right now is the love that Bush and the republicans have for him. With hardly a tiny fraction supporting him, there is no way that the old dictator can stay in power without America's support, which he wouldnt get from sister hillary.
When Musharraf took over, he neither had Republican support nor from the democrats.
He had support from the Pakistani common man way before Americans sent a single penny.
It is not Republicans who pay Musharraf,
It is America who pays for "military contracts" awarded to Pakistani military and other institutions.
If Democrats win, sure they can change the policy.
However it is wrong to pin hopes to Democrats, and it is even worse to expect Hillory or Obama will unseat Musharraf.
Musharraf will remain as prez as long he has support of common man and above all military. If the time comes I am sure he will step down and let Kiyani take the full charge.
