BR has reported that the there is a new alliance to be in place against Govt and Gen Pervaiz Musharraf is set to be the chairman of this alliance. It’ll consist of MQM, PAT , PML(Q) etc but not PTI yet. Now we’ll see how IK’s party joins this alliance but will it work under the leadership of a dictator?
That reminds me of a conversation with Musharraf’s die hard fans who claim that Musharraf is next President of the country, may be TuQ or IK as PM?! ![]()

A new alliance of different political parties against the government is in the offing and General Pervez Musharraf will soon be appointed its chairman. A source close to Musharraf told *Business Recorder *on Wednesday that different strategies for alliance of the political parties are being worked out and the process may be finalised in the next couple of weeks.
“General Musharraf would be chairman of the alliance and next election would also be contested from a unified platform,” he said. Giving details about the parties that would be part of the alliance, h**e said that Pakistan Muslim League-Q, Muslim League Functional and MQM would be part of the alliance besides All Pakistan Muslim League. **
He said PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has been tasked to bring different factions of Muslim League together to make a grand alliance for the next general elections. “It may be premature to say anything about future plans of the alliance but it may emerge as the third political force in the country,” he said. The source said that some heavyweights may also join All Pakistan Muslim League in the coming days as popularity of big political parties like PML-N and PPP is decreasing among the masses across Pakistan.
"MQM and Pakistan Awami Tehreek are in touch with General Musharraf and these parties would also be part of the grand alliance," he claimed. Musharraf has apparently resumed his political activities after getting a solace in the high treason case being pursued against him by the government. “There is already a consensus among like-minded political parties that Musharraf would be appointed chairman of the grand alliance,” he said.
The former president is in touch with some top politicians who had served under him as Nazims and Naib Nazims in different districts of the country. “Some of them are in ruling party and they may decide to join hands with Musharraf again,” he said. Musharraf has held numerous meetings with retired army officers, bureaucrats and members from civil society in the past weeks, he said. Meanwhile, the former president has also started reorganisation of his party, All Pakistan Muslim League, in Balochistan and other parts of the country.
“Muhammad Ali Achakzai and Mohammad Saleem Achakzai are appointed President and General Secretary of Youth Wing Balochistan, respectively,” he said. In the coming days, General Musharraf may also decide to visit different parts of Punjab and address corner meetings there, he said.
