the Musharaf Govt claims to have given more freedom to press than anyother previous Govt. een democratic
during Zia’s time these type of incidents were a common scene and no less can u expect from a military rule but this incident [if true] badly damages Musharraf’s image as a military man with democratic mind as he claims to be
i personally am in favour of most of his policies but this dissappointed me
WASHINGTON: “I am General Musharraf. If you do not stop from telecasting Shahbaz Sharif’s interview on ARY TV, it will be war with us and “main aap ki aisee ki taisee kar doonga” (I will tear you up in pieces).
This is how Pakistan’s military dictator personally took charge of the operation against Shahbaz Sharif and telephoned ARY TV’s popular anchor Dr. Shahid Masood in London, a couple of minutes before he was to do a live interview with Shahbaz Sharif on the night of May 9.
A stunned Dr. Shahid Masood and Shahbaz Sharif looked at each other as ARY TV’s scheduled time for the interview clicked past. No interview was telecast as Musharraf had already sent intelligence goons to the ARY’s Pakistan studios who were already threatening to kidnap, harm and destroy everything.
I knew he could be the lowest of the lows. Is this how an educated person speaks? the facade of a liberal, forward looking, having the solution for everthing person is yet to fade away.

This is the biggest piece of bull shi! I've ever heard. Imagine Musharraf wasting time calling the bufoon doctor. Even if he eanted to do it, he would have told one of his ministers.

i also take this matter pretty much the same way
and thats why i posted it here to be discussed freely
i heard about this from a friend of mine
and so i searched for it every where and i could find it only in SA Tribune
assuming the news to be fake
then why was the interview cancelled at the last moment ?
at least there was a govt. pressure even if Musharraf was personally not involved
Interview may be cancelled for a number of reason. And considering the heavyhanded way Pak Government behaved when Shahbaz came to Lahore recently, its quite possible, that the government of Pakistan did exert undue pressure. But the whole “main aap ki aisee ki taisee kar doonga” seems to be a product of someone's imagination working overtime. If it were true there would be more news outlets reporting it. Wallah o Aalim.

yaar thorha sa zehan pe zor daal....may be the reason not other outlets are reporting is because it is true and they may be afraid of a similar threat to them if they reported:)
Aray threats can work on Pakistani news outlets. Whats stopping other Indian outlets to report it? Wait. Maybe bcz this is just way over the top BS? :D
