Musharraf Now Thinks of Democracy

Former President and the person most responsible for the treason of Nov 3rd, General (r) Pervez Musharraf has realized that the only way to bring about positive change is by following rule of law and taking part in the political process. In this regard he is deciding on starting his own party, a new version of the famous Q-League created by ISI and NAB.

Let’s hope the General has realized that he can not rule the people of Pakistan with his mukka and can not violate decisions of the independent courts as he pleases. Nor can he bypass the cabinets, the ministries, the army or other institutions as he pleases.

Has the General learned from his mistakes and plans to apologize to the nation or does he need an NRO as well to wash his sins? Only time will tell.

As far as possible alliances are concerned the PPP makes a natural ally. The PPP is still protecting Musharraf and now former Musharraf supporters are joining the PPP in their empty hopes of stopping the Long March.

The people of Pakistan have had too much. They want rule of law and justice to govern them. Neither the Taliban nor Army Generals nor Political Parties can be above the Constitution. That is the only solution for stability in Pakistan.
