That is true but the British were in Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, UAE, Yemen and had to protect these countries from joining the communist block
If Britain supported Israel then large parts of Britain's Arab empire will revolt and thus destabilizing the region
As for that Mufti, he supported Hitler because Hitler's hatred of Jews and Hitler promised to liberate Arabs from European colonialism
They Germans almost managed a coup when German Spies landed in Palestine and Iraq to start a rebellion there in 1941 to de-stabilize the British in Middle East when they were fighting the Germans in North Africa
True, but this all indicates that Britain was supporting the German indirectly.
Hence the Russians (to whom goes all credit) who actually freed Europe from Hitler's "Düssenflieger" and Nazi troops in large, was no friend to Britain and strong as ever so GB feared these arab countries to take the sides of the communists and one day or another take over on whole Europe. Right?!?
