It’s really pathetic the President of the country blackmails an individual…either to bow down to the will of the president or to face the consequences…a clear case of abuse of power for personal gain…shows the govt. was never sincere in convicting people who looted the country…rather all the evidence was collected to be used when it will be needed to safeguard the dictatorial regime…
While Mr. Zardari has a lot to explain regarding the source of 1.8 billion dollars of bank deposits…and as he already confessed to the swiss courts through his lawyers of recieving commissions from SGS/Cotecna…a case which will be very difficult to defend in a Pakistani court…for the abuse of public office for personal financial gains…it’s really sad to see the President so openly using the evidence against Mr. Zardari to pressurise him to cooperate with the pathetic dictator…it’s like an offer from the dictator to Zardari…Aao mill kay lootain…

Govt offers Zardari to re-enact NRO

ISLAMABAD: The government would re-enact the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) if the People’s Party decides to cooperate with President Musharraf in future, Attorney-General Justice (retd) Malik Muhammad Qayyum told Asif Ali Zardari in a meeting in Dubai.
Otherwise, cases against the party leaders would reopen after the legislation will be lapsed. The meeting between Malik Qayyum and PPP chairperson took place on Sunday night in Dubai, highly-placed sources told Geo News correspondent Arshad Waheed Chaudhry. Matters related to future cooperation between the two sides were discussed in the meeting.
The meeting was especially focused on the National Reconciliation Ordinance, sources claimed. The attorney-general urged the PPP chairperson to join ranks with Musharraf in future. The NRO will be re-enacted on Feb 5 if the cooperation will be assured, Qayyum said.
Otherwise, cases against Zardari and other party leaders would reopen after passing of the time of the legislation, he added.
