Musharraf and the PML-QA - The Plot to Rig

Pakistan goes to the polls… This time, the PML-QA, which consists of the same old corrupt people who were there in the previous government is backing the government, and Musharraf, a dictator who himself fears a punishable treatment in the future, is poised to bring his loyalists to power…

PML-QA backs Musharraf

PINDI GHEB: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-QA) on Saturday vowed full support to President Pervez Musharraf but denied charges that the party had official backing in October 10 elections.

“Our policy is the same as that of President Musharraf. We openly support his policy and that remains our party line,” said PML-QA senior Chaudhry Pervez Elahi. “Our party will win, not just in Punjab but everywhere in Pakistan and the next government will be our government,” Pervaiz told AFP after addressing a big rally here.

Leaders of several opposition and religious parties have dubbed PML-QA as the King’s party, accusing it of receiving support from the present regime. He said that such charges were unfair and unfortunate. “This is a blatant lie. Merely supporting General Musharraf’s policy does not mean that we are a King’s party,” he said.

He denied the PML-QA received any government support for the October 10 contest. “We have been working for the past three years. We have struggled hard in local bodies polls and secured good results,” he added.

Would you like to read credible source regarding Musharraf’s popularity today in Pakistan?

**Ordinary Pakistanis seem to agree. A pre-election survey of more than 6,000 registered voters by the Pattan Development Organization polling group found 71 percent support the military strongman – America’s key regional ally in the war on terror – remaining as president. **

We’ve done nothing but oscillate between various faces of democracy and military dictatorships," Mehmud lamented. **“If there is any government in Pakistan that has the strength to challenge the past, it is the Musharraf administration.” **

We are not discussing acres and acres of land ukhalil, we are discussing how Musharraf is going to put a regime in power that will support him... If you have articles on that, go ahead and post them...
