Musharraf admits to permitting drone strikes in Pakistan.

The view that I have been adhering to or so many years has been completely vindicated. Musharraf has stated that the Pakistan government and ISI worked with the CIA to carry out drone strikes.

And the details in the article from an investigation published this month by US media firm McClatchy show that not only is this cooperation continuing, but ISI is proactively selecting targets to be terminated by CIA drone strikes.

Details highlighted below

  • The CIA sends ISI regular faxes stating the locations where the CIA will be operating drones in the immediate future
  • ISI’s price for helping the US find and attack Al-Qaeda individuals within Pakistan is for the CIA to make its drones available for attacks against the Pakistani Taliban
  • Pakistan receives video briefings before and after all drone strikes
  • Until 2010 the ISI was permitted to veto any drone strike to prevent it from happening

so ‘sab se pehle Pakistan’ meant ‘sab se pehle drone attacks on Pakistan’. Shame on these military men :hoonh:

As if we did not know it already :snooty:

Re: Musharraf admits to permitting drone strikes in Pakistan.

If the Pakistani military is using the CIA as an extension of its own capability, then it is a more precise, if politically unsavoury, way of carrying out its own objectives. For example, if ISI identifies an individual is in a particular house in an area not under military control, calling in a F-16 to drop a small 500 lb bomb on it would still wipe out most of the village that the house is in. Making a phone call to Langley would allow deployment of a capability that Pakistan does not - the ability to clandestinely rapidly observe and attack a single building.

Once Pakistan completes development of its own weaponized drone platforms, I expect that the majority of the CIA drones strikes would stop, because the ISI could just carry out its own. Of course, then the government wouldn't have the political cover of pretending to be outraged....

Re: Musharraf admits to permitting drone strikes in Pakistan.

That is the first time this dictator accepted raping of the country. What other source you had to prove?

Re: Musharraf admits to permitting drone strikes in Pakistan.

So had he not 'accepted', who would have you blamed?

Re: Musharraf admits to permitting drone strikes in Pakistan.

No one. I am not in habbit of speculating like you guys are experts on them and blaming some one without any proof. Read my posts you will find out links/proofs on every post where I have to say something like above.

I would have believed you if I had not seen you repeat after Anwar Pasha's senseless posts with no material to back up.

Yes, I still remember very clearly the “Google” conspiracy he brought up :hehe:

Re: Musharraf admits to permitting drone strikes in Pakistan.

What is the news here?

Musharraf always owned drone attacks (around 10 that happened during Musharraf in power), rather, when Musharraf use to claim that drone attacks were Pakistani attacks, many started contesting him, saying that it is not Pakistani attacks but it is USA who is violating Pakistan sovereignty (though Americans were not violating Pakistan sovereignty as they were doing drone attacks with full consent and knowledge of Pakistan government).
