He said that the position of neither side, India nor Pakistan, is a feasible way to peace. Essentially, what he laid down was that Pakistan will give up on the idea of holding a plebiscite if India gives up on the idea of having turning the LOC into a border and starts making territorial concessions to either Pakistan or to an autonomous Kashmir.

well, he also probably realizes that a plebiscite at this point in time and in the future must include a 3rd option of kashmiri independence.
if not, he would be pushing this idea like crazy all around the world.
He never said “territorial concessions” as far as I know. Any source for that?
In anycase, his ideas have turned out to be a lead balloon.
Can anybody suggest a viable feasible solution for this dispute?
The answer should ne NO.Its because neither side wants to lose their share.The so called terrorism or Jihad will also find its grave in the near future as it had happened in the case of Punjab.I think that will really pave the ways for a better India-Pakistan tie-up.Becasue then,Indian leadership will lose the teeth to brand pakistan as a `rogue state'.
One peace returns to the valley,the international attention(I doubt anything sort of there )will divert to other areas.
Somebody here was planning to derogate what Mushy had said.He did not use anything related to `territorial concessions'.
The interesting thing is that he did not even touch the other areas aswell.
I strongly believe if Pakistan was truely sincere to Kashmir,why had it donated Kashmir's land to china as part of a treaty between bth the countries?
