Few months ago, I visited Musandam/ Khassab. If you have camping gears, there are many nice places to spend night on the way to Khassab (not recommended with ladies and children)
Most of the pictures are crappy as you can see, because took them from within car while driving, and also because my camera cannot properly digest bright light and contrast colours : s
one can easily drive to khassab from dubai. if you start in the morning, you can spend 2-3 hours there and come back before its too late in night. if you have UAE residence visa, omani visit visa is easily granted at the border
we took the road from Ras-al-khaimah to Khassab, you can also go via Badia/ Fujairah. Another option is going to khassab, taking the ferry to muscat, and coming back to the UAE from Kalba/ Fujairah border
