20 people froze to death in the terrible incident. I’m sure everyone must have heard of it. Who do you think is responsible? How can we make sure it doesnt happen ever again to anyone. Like literally never.
The incompetent government is responsible. I think CM Boozzie didn’t even knew Murree is in Punjab. It is not unusual to get such a snowstorm in Murree. Murree has received heavier snowfalls in the past. Heaviest snowfall in Murree during the last 40 years happened on the night of 11th Feb 2005 when it snowed 16 inches within few hours. And it snowed for 8 days straight. There are well established SOPs made by previous governments. Had those SOPs been followed, it would’ve been just another snowstorm. But it looks like no one in the government knows how to govern. Their tweets advertise their incompetence:

I saw IK’s tweet where he blamed the victims and others to be there without checking the forecast. My question is that, snow season is actually the fun season for winter loving peeps but for argument’s sake lets assume he is right, would that have saved all the lives? Most likely yes, but then they should shutdown entire murree and northern areas during winter season and i’m sure there would be no casualty. Except ofcourse tourism would die but hey no tourists, no deaths. Problem solved.
I was hearing a journalist who noted that although all civilian governments in Pakistan come into power with the backing of establishment, but once they are in power no one else needed as much babysitting as IK because IK has learned governance only from WhatsApp university. IK would’ve been a far better PM, had he not wasted his years in parliament and would’ve been part of some parliamentary committee in order to understand the dynamics of governance.
As far as establishment is concerned, I think establishment is set to get a thrashing they’ve never gotten before once IK is out of power, from IK’s ideological supporters who mostly live overseas.

Btw, i stepped in desi store yesterday where the owner was facetiming someone in Murree and while i started chatting with him he showed me the screen as well where the person on the other side of call was showing how deserted it was there. And he was at Mall road which was supposed to be hustling & bustling and now its dead. I was like, yea go ahead you have slaughtered the goose laying golden eggs so suck it up

Some people are trying to use the Murree incident and the following outrage toward the incompetent government to push their own agenda. It is like dark humor that the same people who were selling IK as a panacea before elections, have now started selling the manjhan of presidential system as the solution to all the problems. Let's see how many fools they could sell that manjhan to.
It is easy to blame government in Pakistan. Had people of Murree humane, they could have saved many lives. Had this happened in Sindh, the poor villagers would rushed to rescue with food, water whatever they had in their poor houses. This is just one example, there are many in Sindh. Noticed how after a certain federal minister stated Pakistan is thriving in tourism is when the said tragedy took place?
Not to mention the few crooked heads caught in the act creating obstacles for tourists just to mint money out of them
Understand there is a huge chain of corrupt syndicates doing their thing in Pakistan for as long as one could imagine. The last thing they want is to be losing it all because of a PM who isn’t out for money nor assets

Pessimism Alert
A majority of pakistani public is composed of 1. bystanders 2. Lame individuals indifferent to the pain/suffering of others
The indifference, cruelty, taking pleasure at the pain of others, extreme lack of empathy disguised under “humen kya lage” mentality needs to be coached [and beaten out of people’s heads because laaton ke bhoot…].
Generation X has created and controlled Pakistan’s social psychology to a vast degree. Among many other things, gen x is severely lacking in empathy and proper parenting skills that involve reinforcement of useless values while undermining crucial values. GenX weaknesses are always overlooked with “it’s okay buzurg/barre hain”. However, the byproducts of Generation X’s failures are MORE self-obsessed, materialistic, heedless failures [millennials] that merely exist to maintain social media personas and only want to contribute to Pakistan via economic means. Pakistan needs to sit back and re-evaluate the founding principles under which this nation came into existence.
Let’s learn a thing or two from Silent Generation [and ignore genx]. Silent Generation was authentic, true to themselves, humane, and upheld and passed on MEANINGFUL values [fyi gen x, keyword is meaningful] and lead fulfilling lives…But most of them have died out and with them, our true culture of looking out for each other without expecting anything in return. Good luck Pakistan
