These are the two leading wicket takers in Test Cricket…one the best off spinner and one the best leggie…no doubt on their day certain matchwinners…obviously having them both on their day is a dream but if you had to pick one…for your side who would it be and why?..lol and as a Pakistan supporter which bowler would you rather not play against Pakistan and why?

I would always rate warne much above Murali. Murali is a great bowler but he doesnt have to compete with other bowlers for wickets (as SL team doesnt have any other genuine wicket taking support other than Vaas who doesnt have the ability to run through a team on consistent basis). Thats why Murali has been getting 6-7-8 wickets on consistent basis because of lack of bite from the other end. Murali will bowl 40 over a day for a wicket haul. DUH!!
Warne on the other hand had to compete with the likes of Mcdermott, McGrath, etc for wickets and that makes warne's feats much more special and praiseworthy.
By the way this topic has been discussed many times before but okay.

I consider Warne as a better bowler because
1) Warne gets wickets on any pitch in any country - Murali is not that effective outside Sri Lanka
2) Warne is not the only wicket taker for his country - on any given day Lee,McGrath,Gillespie,Fleming are genuine wicket takers...(as pointed out earlier by Saby)
3) Thirdly Murali's achievement is clouded by his suspect action which I too subscribe to.

Leg spinners are a rare commodity in cricket and it is very hard for a cricket lover not to appreciate leggies in game.
Murli is a great ripper of the ball and can turn on almost any surface. He is indeed the BEST Off-spinner the game has ever seen.
If I was to pick one of the two, I would definitely pick Murli...he seems more dedicated.

Warne is avery intelligent bowler thats why he is also ahead of Macgill who spins alot....
Murli is also better

Shane Warne is DEFINITELY a better bowler than Murali, he has performed almost everywhere in the world except India and even Murali doesn't have that GREAT record in India.
Shane Warne is intelligent, he has invented many delivieries and he has mastered the art of LEG SPIN. Moreover leg spin is harder to learn and no matter how much turn you get, if you don't put the ball in right spots you will be murdered.
Murali is an excellent bowler but his bent arm gives him so much advantage over other spinners, it's not his fault and he is not a cheater but he definitely gets enormous advantage because of his BENT arm.
SHANE WARNE IS A BETTER BOWLER!!!!!!!!
