Murgha Punishment

In Pakistan, Murgha punishment is widely acceptable in schools. Police also use this punishment on criminals…

Is it common in other culture too?

What are others punishment in other cultures?

Does it really help?

But he was punished at Western part of world....

Re: Murgha Punishment

I've got lots of observations and experiences on this matter (punishing students). Its never been useful and creates a resistance in victim. Sometimes, students start disliking the teacher and that results to leaving studies in between as well.

As I shared with you that I couldn't complete my Hifz e Quran and one of the reasons behind this decision was this attitude by a molana. When I decided that I won't go to that madarsa, many of representative came at our home for making me change my decision, but I refused to meet them. When I went for prayers in masjid, that molvi told me 'tum jehnami ho'. I stopped praying for years. My Dada and Dadi stopped talking to me as that was their wish that someone from their children become hafiz e Quran. I asked them I won't go to that Madarsa (it was the only deo-bandi madarsa in the town) and if they wish me to continue hifz e Quran, send me to other madarsa (that was bound to be non-deo bandi madarsa), they didn't accept it as for them that would probably result sectarian issue in small town.

Re: Murgha Punishment

I heard that Deobandi madrasas in Karachi hire Brelvi Qaries for their students… They are good in recitation… :hmmm:

Re: Murgha Punishment

baRi door ke lae hain aap. I don’t think its possible. My experience says that they consider barelvis as ‘Mushrik’, shia as ‘Munafiq’. I have heard students of Madarsa in their teenage saying ’ Khuda ka shukr hai us ne hamen deo-bandi banaya .. Mushrik o Munafiq nahin banaya’ followed by recitation of Sura e Bayyina (Lam ya kun ilazeen’… :bummer: I know this poison spread in roots of our society from my childhood.
