Democracy in India thats got to be a joke they call the Ghandhis a monarchy and Democracy only been in India 50 years! more like one party state by the sounds of it!

Dear Nicols, such things have happened earlier. You are in a haste calling it a murder of democracy.
In fact our constitution assembly members checked all aspects of governing a state while making the constitution of India but they were very idealist people and did not foresee the entrance of sychophants, corrupt politicians etc. So such thongs take place.
Frankly speaking, we enjoy it.
AK, what I can tell you, as you are very keen on off and on the topic in every thread. We have a democratic history of 50+ years, under one constant constitution, with regular elections. Do you have any such example in South Asia?
Do you know that our citizens in last 15 years, in every election we have changed more than 30% of sitting members of parliament and assemblies, something uncommon for western democratic countries.
And dear, their are countries in Asia, which are jokes in itself, you know it very well.

ak47 seems pained by the goings on in jharkand. this should bring him some joy to know that Prez.Kalam has summoned the Governor as well as those elected. So he'll find out and the winners will form the government in that state and if Gov.Raz doesn't have a probable cause for his haste, well he will face the consequences of that.

Oh I'll tell you what else we people in demoracies get to enjoy - a strong healthy opposition that keeps the majority from going overboard on one side. Like the jharkand assembly with a 41:40 or 42:39. It can be painfully gridlocked at times but that's better than unrestrained pull

For your kind information no single party has achieved a majority in the state. It helps to get the facts right before you make a statement.

In India, governors are appointed to office in states for a five-year term by the president on the advice of the prime minister, and their conduct is supposed to be, in principle, above politics.

The season for sacrifice and renunciation of Sonia Gandhi is over. She was compared to Jesus and Mother Teresa. In less than a year’s time, when politics was redefined by renunciation, greed is back on top as the defining icon of the neta.
So what makes a more than 100-year-old political party make an obvious miscalculation like this? It’s sheer greed to get more states under its command.

Friends, if you go thru the democratic traditions, the Governer of Jharkhand has done nothing illigal. He has invited the leader of the largest party to form the Govt, absolutely valid as per the constituition. If this newly formed Govt cannot prove the majority in the House, it will resign.
