can anyone please tell me who the murderers of Hz Othman [RA] were and why were thhey not caught and punished by the caliph Hz Ali[RA]

After killing the Caliph, the rioters plundered his house. Then they rushed to the public treasury and looted it. Horror-stricken people looked on the orgy from behind closed doors. No one dared to call a halt to it. Medina seemed to be at the mercy of the rioters. For three days, Usman’s dead body lay unburied. Rioters would not allow anyone to bury it. At last some people went to Ali and spoke to him about the matter. At Ali’s request, the rioters allowed the burial. Late in the evening, seventeen men carried the dead body to the graveyard of Medina and buried it there.

Murder of Hazrat Uthmaan ra was one of the greatest calamities for Muslims, it resulted in turmoil and differences that appear impossible to patchup.
I don't think it was any less a calamity than Kerbala.

Martyrdom of Saiyidina 'Uthman was the turning point in Islamic Khilafat system, after his murder 5 years passed in fitnah and civil war till Saiyidina Mu'awiyah got the khilafat and 19 years of his rule brought peace, prosperity and expansion to Ummah.

we all know after martyrdom of haz, uthmaan muslims selected their khalifa to hazrath Ali and after 4-5 years muawwiya. Mr debator aid "after his murder 5 years passed in fitnah "
It means period of khuilafat e haz Ali was period of fitna. Not a single muslim have courage to insult haz Ali except those who are jews and enemies of islam. that is why he is supporting those who demolished grave hazrath uthmaan third khalifa and supporting those who put Gasoline on Prophet’s Mother (s) grave,building toilets on Sayyedah Khadijah (s) house . same people demolished hujras of all the relatives and friends of our Holy Prophet(s.a.w) and insulted them and muslims.

There were 6 people in the house to martyr Hadrat usman:razi:
1-Muhammad bin Bi bak:razi:
2-Amr BinHamaq:razi:
3-Kanana bin basheer
4-Ghafiqi
5-Suuraan
6-Kulsoom
First two realised thier mistake and tried to stop other from this murder.
No. 5/6 were murdered on spot , No. 4/3 ran away but killed later on, so it is wrong to assume that qateleen e usman were not killed/taken qassas from.
How ever it was Ijtihadi opinion of hadrat Ali:razi: not to take revenge from time being from the people who participated in planning of this ,as this was fitnah time.
hadrat Ali:razi: was endorsed by hazrat Muhammad:saw: that he is Gate of Ilm, so we should not question this.

Bro, I am sure Maulana Yousuf was not an eye witness in this tragedy, so he must be depending on some evidence / narration. The question is what the narration is? If Maulana sahab writes something in his book, it doesn’t mean it is true or authentic.
Therefore I am interested in a sound narration which must not be from shia narrators.
And yes, if the murder of Saiyidina 'Uthman is discussed, all areas related to this greatest tragedy of Ummah would be encompassed including the Khilafat of Saiyidina 'Ali and Mu’awiyah therefore smma should hold his tongue and reply in this thread with cool head and wisdom.

it is unfortunate how deep the differences are among muslims.
If you read same history books in detail, you will come to know that few facts in entire incident were worrisome but still sunni brothers simply tend to overlook them.
1. Muhammad bin Abi Bakar, Son of First Caliph was among the killers of third Caliph. in turn he was caught by Amir Muawia few years later and was burnt alive wrapped in a donkey's skin in revenge. this was a really sick method of punishment designed by Umayyads. please remember that Muhammad bin Qasim too died the same way.
Hazrat Usman was burried in Jews graveyard instead of muslims graveyard in Madina.
Hazrat Usman's policies installed bani Umayyah all over the islamic empire so strongly that it took another 100 years to get rid of them. isn't this unjust and against islamic principles.
please note that this was one of allegations against him.

^very interesting history there muwaiah's son was yazid,, muwaiah was a big enemy of hazrat ali and fought war with him,he thought that hazrat was involved with people who mudered osman and that was the reason he did nt punish them..hazrat ali was murdered too later on.hazrat ayeshas army fought hazrat ali in a battle too following the death of osman.it was during this period of civil war that we saw shiahs and sunnis emerge in the muslim world.
