What are your views on muraqba?

Muraqba is ( roohaniyat or spirituality), it is something which cannot be achieved by doing a chilla or something, it is a special blessing showered by Allah upon his selected people. Muraqba is the first Sunnah of Our Beloved Prophet MUhammad s,a,w in terms of Worshipping and Thinking of Allah Azzawajal because Salah was not Revealed before The Night of Ascension.

well i know it because,i read/ follower of saints ,sufis n aulia Allah...:)

Then you should know that Rumi used to do muraqaba.

The basis of this word raqaba - yarqabu - means to sit, wait and to look out for ... "something to happen" ... It can be understood as opening all channels on a radio listening in for some sort of communication.

The word muraaqabah hence means to make oneself receptive through waiting - the state is meditative, but the idea is to search for a connection to the Divine.

Searching can be done by anyone - but only some are blessed with a connection

Indeed Tawajuh is important Catskin...but its very hard for us to achieve especially with all the day to day distractions!

One effective way to your islah is ,besides other things , Muraqba e Mawt.

What is Muraqabatul Mawt? It is the contemplation of death. What, not a pleasant subject to think about? True, perhaps it isn’t as fun to ponder over than watching the sunset, or even your pet canary hopping to and fro in its cage. But, it really is a deterrant of sins.

Just stop and imagine, if you died right now, at this precise second, in which state would people find you? They’d find me by my pc. And you? Will the find you in your house, suddenly interrupted whilst you were cleaning the house for your family? Will they find you at your work, taken away while earing halal rizq to feed your family with? Will they find you slumped in front of your television while a game show is playing? Will they find you in an alley with bottles surrounding you?

The thought that we can die at any moment should not be what guides us to do good deeds, rather our good deeds should be for the sake of pleasing our Beloved Allah. However, our thinking about death helps us remember that death can come to us at any second. What is one thing we are positive of? Death. What is one thing we can never be positive about? When death will strike us. This should be enough to guide our actions and keep us away from all evil deeds. After all, a person will be raised on the Day of Judgment in the state in which they died.

Imagine, how great it would be to rise up on that day whilst immersed in the remembrance of Allah!

And imagine, how awful it would be for the one who died while sinning, to rise up before the whole of humanity, before Rasulullah :saw: What face would he show that Rasul of Allah :saw: who stood all night crying for him?

I get these dreams here and there which make me feel that Allah hasn't forgotten me even though I may have. So in a way these dreams encourage me to make an effort for salah and dhikar. Through muraqaba I want to be able to attain that feeling that I get through dreams sometimes.

We should always be thinking about that anyway.

Catskin, attend a Dhikr gathering. Dhikr in a gathering is far more beneficial then doing alone. The Almighty says that if you remember Him in a gathering then He will remember you in a gathering far better than yours.

Just think about that for a minute.
