I dont think so anyone will be able to chase Murli down, providing he doesn't get injured and he plays both form of cricket till the next world cup (ODI; selective games). I think (if I am not wrong) he said he would like to carry till the next WC, right?

^ I think Murali 35 will be very selective when it comes to one-day games after WC 2007 and quite understandably so. I am sure he will carry on playing test cricket for a while yet. Whether he plays until WC 2011 is debatable. He would be 39 then but he's a spinner, so it depends very much on his desire and motivation. The skill factor or his place in the team won't be a problem for sure. Imran Khan was exactly 39 years and 4 months old when he lifted the WC on 25 March 1992!

^ Let’s give this chucking issue a rest. The poor guy has been tested and cleared umpteen times. Let’s just accept that he’s a double-jointed wrist or whatever. Besides you need skill and ability first and foremost. If chucking alone made you a great bowler then Bhaji would have a record to match Murali’s in tests and ODIs - period. Let’s give the guy his due credit :k: Murali’s action maybe a bit unsightly and ungainly but there’s no doubting his immense skill and talent
It’s like saying if you scratch the seam of a cricket ball with nails you can gain deadly reverse swing. Then every third-rate county or first-class bowler would become a world class swing bowler. It’s not quite as simple as you seem to be suggesting

Ok, lets say he is a chucker.
He is a strike bowler for SL. A great trump card. An invaluable asset that no other team has in their fold now. Warne is history. So Murali is the last man standing. A bowler of the other kind!

Warne is the greatest bowler of all time and Murali is the best off-spinner ever. Barring injuries, he can rack up massive wickets in Tests. 900 is not impossible.

Bowling a doosra delivery consistently without chucking is not possible...that's what experts say.
Buty credit should go to Murali...he is disciplined on line and length...not everyone can utilize their physical deformity and produce excellent off-spin..
