**Aghr meri maa ne yeh thread parh lia na tou mujhe bara chitr paray gey...
khair... here goes...**
**My mom always goes, "JAAN-E-YY JEE.... EEDHAR TE ANA." :@:
***If we ask her something about dad, She'll go, "AHAOO TERE PIOOOO DE HARKATAA." :D*
My mum always called my dad "sunein". And while talking to us about him, she would say 'ye jo tumhare Papa hain..".
I think its very cute. It might be slightly old-fashioned, but I believe that's the beauty of it.
Re: munay kay aboo baat sunain--- calling husband by name

Re: munay kay aboo baat sunain--- calling husband by name
Same here at my home.My mom always call my dad "Suniye" but my dad always call her by name.
I don't do that...when it's needed I call my hubby with name or his nick name :)
Re: munay kay aboo baat sunain--- calling husband by name
My mother uses the same thing " Sunain" but when she is talking to someone else about my dad then she uses his name...My dad uses her name....but they always talk with Aaap janab to each other...
I call my husband by his name mostly...and he calls me by my nickname that only he uses....so it's sweet!
whats gone wrong with wives of today .. all you women taking your hubby’s names … cheeeee … ![]()
whats wrong with calling him makhan kai abba… or ajee suntay hoooo …? husband name taking should be banned !![]()
sweet stories.I think this thing changes with mood.
e.g
When you are in a good mood say,"aajeee sunyeee to"and smile
When you are in a very bad mood,it should be,"Oooye, sun "n snort.
When you are in a romantic mood it should be "Honey or sweetheart or whatever"
When you are in a normal mood then using regular names will be better.
Re: munay kay aboo baat sunain--- calling husband by name
Mom almost never says dad's name, maybe a few times in a joking manner. When talking to others, she says "inu" (i.e. "he"). My dad is more comfortable using my mom's name, but still it's not too often. My grandparents never use each other's names, not even my grandfather- in public he just refers to her as "humari misses" i thought that was cute!
Actually, the weird thing in our family is that most of us don't use our real names in the house. Which makes it hard talking to each other in public-- Me and my bro have a nickname at home, or are called baji/bhayyah by our smaller sibs, so when we were in school together, I would always feel weird using his real name. My bro (he's older) also feels weird calling me by my real name cuz he's so used to my nick. My mom and dad still call him by a nickname, and I keep telling them he's to old to be called it. haha this whole not using name = respect thing :). Although I like it, i think it's a very unique part of our culture.

Re: munay kay aboo baat sunain— calling husband by name
My parents have always called each other by their names… or lovey dovey nick names barf
i call my hubby by name or with affectionate nicknames
… i don’t understand what the big deal is. I think this theory of ‘not calling your hubby by his name = respectful’ comes from hindu tradition where you husband is like a deity… ![]()
My favourite that i have heard is in a feeble voice ‘suneeay jee…’…i said this to the hubby once… and he just replied with laughter and said ‘what do you want??’ ![]()
Re: munay kay aboo baat sunain--- calling husband by name
