I had always thought that people of Sindh were greatly influenced by sufi Islam (based on love, forgiveness, tolerance & understanding) & that's how it should be.

Perhaps need to correct myself now..

You are right and thats why they have been tagged as 'less Muslims' time and again.

There is a shift due to radicalization of society in recent past by random madarsas on every nook and corner (near highways), one can expect bitter reaction over such incidents from Aashiqan e Rasool.

Political fallout of this hanging will come to the fore in the coming days, will Pmln lose the support of barelvis? Secondly if salman Taseer can be called a blasphemer just by questioning the blasphemy law, very easily someone can label Nawaz sharif one as well by siding with a supposed blasphemer.

All depends on media how they handle the situation. Some level of protest was expected, but if media refuses to provide coverage and discuss the issue, I reckon situation can fizzle out within a day.

And for God sake - do not have that 'mumtaaz Alim e Deen' Dr Amir Liaqat on TV for any tabsra. An Ahamadi doctor was murdered in cold blood when that dastard openly encouraged killings of gustakhe rasool. I know he has a massive fan following, but seriously, Islam ka khana kharab ho gya he in khatey peele 'scholars' or molvion ki waja se.

Can somebody who lives there tell me what the situation will be on tuesday? Someone went today to islamabad oday from mirpur but the roads were blocked and it is important to be there.

Someone who knows if the roads still blocked tomorrow, the road person did take was blocked? Please tell if u are sure. So that person can go tomorrow or have to wait till wednesday and roads that were blocked will be blocked tomorrow also?

as expected, we got a new shaheed… lets see how many people show up. that is the issue. every country has messed up folks but generally speaking, public doesnt side by them but in pakistan we have emotional religiosity in full flow with great zealousness and it is equally spread among all spheres…after all lawyers were supporting mumtaz qadri

I think credit should be given to NS' govt. This would have never happened under PPP govt. I'm glad they are cleaning up the trash & hope Tasser family got some justice.

What's ironic is that Taseer was PPP's own guy and the only thing he was really doing in PPP was be a mouthpiece to criticize the Punjab Govt back then.

It is very important for all the Political parties, including PPP and PTI to come out and hail this execution. If they cannot do that, at least they should stay quiet and not score any political points by calling this turd Qadri a shaheed.

فیصلہ آپ خود کیجیے، کیا ایک داغ(قتل) سے دوسرا داغ(قتل) صاف(معاف) کیا جاسکتا ہے...؟
ممتاز قادری تو صرف ایک پاگل تھا جس کو پھانسی دے کر موت کے گھاٹ اتاردیاگیا، لیکن اس جیسے تو لاکھوں پاگل اور بھی ہیں جو ہاتھوں میں بندوق لیے سرحدوں پر ایک دوسروں کے خلاف لڑ رہے ہیں...(موت کی سزا صرف قید ہونی چاہیے تاکہ معاشرے کو مزید قتل و غارت گیری سے بچایا جاسکے اور اگر آپکے پاس اس سے کوئی بہتر تجویز موجود ہو تو ہمیں بھی آگاہ کیجیے)

Qadri's case also illustrates the point that education alone does not hold one back from having such extremist views. Qadri was an elite force commando, so educated enough to know the consequences of his action.

Good news.

To be honest I never expected that from any Govt to take this step. Credit should be given to NS government that willingly or unwillingly, they did hang him

I'd also say that justice is only half done. People (i.e. Jahil Mullah's that he followed) who persuaded/mentored/brainwashed him to do the act should also be behind bars.
