O.K. If it's not the Big B then what are the alternatives? Hrit... is not it. Salman.... daNga fasaad.... if they don't hang him first for manslaughter. Shahrukh....doesn't have enought "English" for the role. So who is left with a big name recognition?
My guess.... not everyone like every actor/ess.... would be Big B.

jannu, i guess madhuri dixit is the ideal choice for mumtaz cuz mumtaz died at the age of 39 and our madhuri’ji just looks 39 !! as far as shahjehan goes, I guess sunny deol as sardar shahjehan would be perfectly fit… and salman khan as bigada hua laadla - aurangzeb.. I guess since shah jehan was way older compared than mumtaz.. I would vote for dev anand.. in this movie he will die before mumtaz.. surprise climax..

Ashwaria's pretty but i dunno i'd rather see her as Paro or some Indian queen because she doesn't have the looks of a mughal queen. Sonya Rizvi, the other Mumtaz Mahal suits the role more at least lookswise. I agree with the person that suggested Karisma Kapoor because as far as looks go, Karisma looks more like what i imagine Mumtaz Mahal to have looked like.
(i'm not taking acting, dancing or any other abilities into account).
