if anything mumbai should have been choice 3 after feroz shah kotla and sardar patel. with the city plagued by rss idiots that are always threatening to dig up pitches.. maybe lorgat's wife is from amchi mumbai and had threatened to not cook if this didnt happen.

Is the World Cup 2011 final fixed by Haroon Lorgat? How can he predict an Indian Win in the Finals? Even if India reaches the finals and Tendulker scores a 100 yet history is against an Indian Win as whenever Tendulker has scored a 100 India failed to register a win. Look at the two matches in the recent world cup where Tendulker scored 100.

Lorgat bhai doesn't watch cricket - else he'd know that Tendulkar scoring a century and India winning have a tendency to be mutually exclusive events.
That being said, it would be befitting for Tendulkar to say farewell to the World Cup in his home city.

a quick look at the numbers reveals that when tendulkar scores a century, india has lost only 27% of those matches. however, india's overall loss percentage in matches where tendulkar played is 43%. statistically, a tendulkar century has had a greater impact on india's winning chances than centuries made by ponting, kallis, inzimam, etc. on their respective teams' winning chances (brian lara is an exception).
the only argument that would hold water is if tendulkar's centuries have come at an average strike rate of 50-60%. in reality they have come at an average strike rate above 100%. the claims about selfish batting and chasing records at the cost of winning are equally baseless.

If true then i want to know what steps has he taken to make sure India goes in to final and sachin scores a 100.

So If India makes it into the Final (presuming they win against AUS and then PAK) becoz of some dubious Umpiring or a sudden match fixing scandel involving Pakistan u Mr. Lorgat have done enough to fill the Papers for the next few weeks u IDIOT

Guys - come on. We are talking about one of the all time legends of cricket here. World of cricket owes a lot to Indian fans and Indian fans are into cricket this much because of what Tendulkar triggered.
I think it is a befitting honor but Lorgat forgets something: regardless of where the finals occur the stands will be full and if India is one of the finalists, it will be packed with Indians.

I think it was a stupid statement to make on his part but I'm not sure how much of it was actually a factor when they were finalizing a schedule. It could just be a stupid comment by him in respnose to an "indian" reporter.
I'm not a fan of Lorgan but the criticism on here is a bit too much. Claims that HE is involved in match fixing? Come on give it a rest.

I agree that it is too much to give an idea that Lorgat is fixing matches, but he is biased towards India and Tendulkar, which makes him a compromising figure who should be heading ICC

To be honest i along many others i know were expecting the Final to be at Eden Gardens ..... imagine this Huge Crowd cheering u on ..... the atmosphere alone would've made a great occasion to be on ..... in '96 the Final took place at the Ghaddafi Stadium and not in Karachi
Kher hota hai ..... would be interessting too know/read if by the Final PPL will remeber what Lorgat said ;)

Criticism of ICC is coming from guys who themselves couldn't organize a booze-up in a brewery. ICC is primarily a marketing organization and they do what is the best to market cricket. Please accept the unpalatable reality that it is Indian passion for cricket that makes cricket a marketable product, so ICC is right in holding the match where they have the best marketing exposure and that is not in Muzzafarabad.
