CNN) – Entertainer Michael Jackson has died after being taken to a hospital on Thursday after suffering cardiac arrest, according to multiple reports including the Los Angeles Times and the Associated Press. CNN has not confirmed his death.

Entertainer Michael Jackson has died after being taken to a hospital on Thursday after suffering cardiac arrest, according to multiple reports including the Los Angeles Times and the Associated Press. CNN has not confirmed his death.
Jackson, 50, had been in a coma at the hospital, sources told CNN after paramedics revived him at his home.
Brian Oxman, a Jackson family attorney, said he was told by brother Randy Jackson that Michael Jackson collapsed at his home in west Los Angeles Thursday morning.
Family members were told of the situation and were either at the hospital or en route, Oxman said.
Fire Capt. Steve Ruda told CNN a 911 call came in from a west Los Angeles residence at 12:21 p.m.
Ruda said Jackson was treated and transferred to the UCLA Medical Center.
Asked specifics of the patient's condition, he said he could not discuss them because of federal privacy laws.
The music icon from Gary, Indiana, is known as the "King of Pop."
Jackson is the seventh of nine children in a well-known musical family.
At the medical center, every entrance to the emergency room was blocked by security guards. Even hospital staffers were not permitted to enter. A few people stood inside the waiting area, some of them crying.

Jackson was rushed to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center this afternoon by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
Fire Capt. Steve Ruda said paramedics responded to a call at Jackson’s home at 12:26 p.m. He was not breathing when they arrived. The paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation and took him to the hospital, Ruda told The Times.
Updated at 2:12 p.m.: Paramedics were called to a home in the 100 block of Carolwood Drive off Sunset Boulevard. Jackson had rented the Bel-Air home for $100,000 a month. It was described as a French chateau estate built in 2002 with seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, 12 fireplaces and a theater

May he rest in peace...he certainly did not seem to find peace in life but was one heck of an amazing performer. A sad life he led later on, when he got all weird so I hope he is at peace now.

his height of fame came in the mid to late 80's. ive never seen fans scream for anyone else like they did for michael jackson. people used to literally crush themselves on the crowd control barriers

His UK tour which was supposed to be in 10 days was sold out in minutes after the tickets released and at one of the ticket stations that I went to , I was told people had been camping outside the station since 14 days and the que was a few thousand people long !
I was awed .. but such is life ..
My brother was a huge jackson fan; we grew up listening to him. He even bought a ticket to his upcoming tour in England. He was an icon, and though he is truly the King of Pop, he had his bit with some rock songs, especially when you added someone like Eddie Van Halen or Slash in the picture. My favorite Jackson song, a deut with another legend Paul McCartney from the early 80s.
