Multiple personality disorder.

I did not believe in that stuff and thought it was just in the movies but apparently it’s very real as I see it happen infront of my eyes.

My roommate’s had 3 incidents this week in which his “Other more evil side” came out. The transformation is scary,he zones out for a while, his eyes turn red, he clutches his head, gets dark bag under his eyes and gets this wicked grin on his face.

I talked to “him” for a good 3 hours yesterday asking why he was here, how long he’s been with him. e.t.c. And it’s a complete perosnailty transformation
he’s more violent, hatred for the world and keeps calling my roommate a “pussy”.

He’s been under somewhat stress lately, homesickness, school work and stuff. But lately it’s not even that it’s just minor stuff tht triggers his anger and he becomes the other guy.

I know my roommate since childhood,we’ve been in the same school and now the same university,we’re practically like brothers. The other guy told me that he’s had it since childhood and how his parents covered it up by calling it Communication therapy.

Ofcourse he doesn’t remember any of it. We always have to describe what he does in his state and he has this shocked and depressed look on his face.I really feel for him.

He is already going for psychiatric help and has a 5 hour session coming up this week.

What I want to know is, is this treatable? Are there any drugs for it? He still has 2 months to go back home. Really worried. :frowning:

Re: Multiple personality disorder.

Don’t know if it can be treated but it’s a start if the problem is recognised, he’s seeing someone for it and he has friends like you around to support him. I’m glad you don’t see him as a freak or nothing because usually when your mind goes for a walk it can be quite embarrassing to tell friends, expecting reactions and at times you can feel so freaky…be there for him like you are ..that in itself will be a huge aid to him

Good Luck :flower1:

Re: Multiple personality disorder.

Till the time, therapists or Psychatrist or He by himself find it out...

MPD.. and in the Type you mentioned... its a bit too much... BUT.. its not Painful I guess... Coz the Person Going through it dont know whats going on...

Whenever The Cause is out of the Hidden Box in Some Memory Cell... The Prob is Solved.. :)

Re: Multiple personality disorder.

I am pretty sure it’s treatable and I hope he gets well soon. :flower1:

Re: Multiple personality disorder.

Sounds like jinn bhoot.

Re: Multiple personality disorder.

could be an exorcism needed.

Re: Multiple personality disorder.

oh my God oh my God… is it a multiple personality disorder???

Im scared of myself now frightened look … That’s another thing that I can remember and recall all that I do/did in anger (smashing things, banging doors, etc.)

Re: Multiple personality disorder.

One of the thing that I've always wondered about is whether the term "multiple personality disorder" is a modern western way of trying to accounting for a person's being possessed by a jinn or not.

Re: Multiple personality disorder.

well I have written a paper on this and it is treatable with Psychodynamic psychotherapy or supportive psychotherapy.

Re: Multiple personality disorder.

maddy, you think im possessed by a jinni?

Re: Multiple personality disorder.

^^

Is that TNW talking or the jinn in her? :hoonh:

Anyway, what you said is what you did in anger when you lost control. That’s different from multiple personality.

Re: Multiple personality disorder.

anti depressends(spell?) would help, but more then that therapies and counseling should be a great help..i know a person with similar conditions. It is very difficut to live with such people because you know they are not mentally healty and they should be going through regular counseling/therapies but they won't accept that.

Re: Multiple personality disorder.
