**Several people are reported to have been killed in a bus crash near Phoenix, Arizona.**State public safety officials said there had been “multiple fatalities and serious injuries” in the incident.
Westbound lanes of Interstate 10 south of Phoenix have been closed, AP news agency reported.
US media reports said rescuers were breaking windows to get to victims. Medics have set up an emergency site to deal with casualties, AP reports.
Broadcaster Phoenix ABC-15.com said the crash happened at 0527 local time (1227GMT) and also involved two trucks and several cars.
The report quoted a fire official saying five people had been killed with up to seven more in a critical condition.
Witnesses said the badly-damaged bus is by the side of the road surrounded by debris.
It is not clear how many of the casualties are from the bus or from the other vehicles involved.
