I have been using no-line progressive bifocal lenses for many years, but never used contact leses.

@X2 -- hahahaa.....I figured he'd read it first anyway......

@Mirch -- yeah...I'm familiar with those but these are contact lenses and I wanted to know how people find them. I have a pair but keep forgetting to try them at home for a day like I'm supposed to.

In the past couple of years I've really buggered up my eyesight.....a number of different reasons......just getting tired of wearing glasses all the time......really sucks.

Muzna can you get lasik done ? Is that even a possibility for your eyesight

lasik sorts out near sightedness or far sightedness?
i thought it was only for the former and can actually cause someone to need reading glasses as well.

lasik takes care of nearsightedness…and yes, it can actually make you need reading glasses or intensify the need if it already exists.
in my case I will likely need reading glasses if I have the surgery.

right now when I wear my contact lenses to correct my nearsightedness I need reading glasses but when I am not wearing any lenses I don’t need reading glasses at all…

its just so annoying…like if I go swimming with Noor without my lenses…I can’t see her around the pool and I panic

if I go with contact lenses on then I can’t focus up close and do up her goggles or hooks/straps etc…

There are some new approaches where one eye is tuned to read and one to see objects far away and together aside from a short period of adjustment it works out. heard about that?

yes...the lasik folks actually gave me contact lenses to simulate this......gave me a nasty headache each time I tried to do it......I don't think that I will be able to tolerate that.

I tried the multifocal lenses for a while but it was too short a time....I will give them another go and see if I can adjust to them.
at the end of the day I have to adjust to something.....

I know ppl who war multifocal and are doing just fine with them. so inevitably in a few years when i need bifocals, thats the avenue i am going to go for. thought about lasik many times but just keep walking away from it

yeah me too...dunno why I stay away from lasik.....even though so many I know are perfectly happy having done it.
I can't quite put my finger on it.....just doesn't work for me.

I will continue trying with the multifocal contact lenses. I just hate blurry vision.....I panic when I can't see properly. Heaven help me.

Yep , my doctor told me some people adjust very well others have issues. So you might be one of those who will have issues with that.

yeah....plus lasik is a pretty permanent kind of thing...not like you can change it back if you don't adjust well.....

No, I didn't try. But Multifocal lens available for soft and rigid gas peremeable (RGP or GP) its used daily wear or extended wear. Its advantage is GP lens sharper vision than soft. But Hybrid multifocal lens also a GP center a soft periphery and its making to adapt easily.
