The theory of superstrings involves the existence of nine dimensions of space and one dimension of time (a total of 10 dimensions). According to this notion, we observe only three spatial dimensions and one time dimension because the other six spatial dimensions are “curled up” or “compactified.” An other aspect of this theory is the possibility of infinite parallel unverses, which raises some very philosophical and religious questions. here are some
Do you think this theory contradict with the current religious believes or complements it? especially Islam.
Does it force us to rethink and redefine the defination of LIFE, since we percieve life according to our understanding based upon a 3 dimensional existance?
With the exception of Darwin's theory (that also not 100%), I found no major theory that conflicts with our belief system.
There is a super string theory that even talks about 26 dimension but all curled up except 3 space and one time dimension.
Even parallel universe theory (or multiverse theory) does not conflict with theory of creation. One name of Allah is Rab-ul-aalameen (tamam jahaanon kaa palnay wala). In a way, that title supports the multiverse thoery if you think about it.

what is your take on it?
Nice post!!
you know xeno It craks me up when ppl try to make sense of allah mian based on off course 3 dimensions.
you don;t see the conflict because you have a brain Mr. Khan.
Maybe I dont see the conflict because I dont have one .. you need a brain to make an observation .. :D
So any way, do we have any reason to believe that we are not alone in this universe. Yes we do. Everyday we are finding more and more solar systems surrounded by planets. Its just a matter of months that we gonna discover an earth like planet.
What another universe is nothing but a region of a grand system that is not connected to our universe (our region) by any means, like an inside of a blackhole. A blackhole is now a physical reality, not a theory anymore. I am sure that one day we can find a proof of another universe too

good example of superposition!
May be its not there when we are looking, but its action proves that it is there.
I mean it only there when we are not looking. ha ha
That my friend is some serious quantum decoherence .
may be brain is not big enough to reflect back photons ?? possible..
Nice post!!

May be because we around bound with our senses, thats why it's hard for us to comprehend his creations, let alone HIM.
I dont really see much conflict between Science and Faith. It surprises me when people try to prove one over the other
Bingo, the more you think about it scientifically it becomes clearer that life can't be a freak accident of EVOLUTION.
As for 26 dimensions, I won't be surprised that with time scientists will discover more, it only strengthen the Islamic belief of Him being the Rub-ul-Alameen.
Our mind is not capable of comprehending more than 3 spatial dimensions that is why it is so difficult to even visualize a universe with four dimensions, but that is the shortcoming of our brain, not of physics. Physics does not restrict the number of dimensions in anyway.

this can't be said untill we have complete understanding of human mind, unfortunately we still dun know what a human mind is capable of.

during problem solving, our brain can only hold so little information. thats why we use symbols in mathematics. I learned it while playing card games "patience".
I sincerely wish that we could find fossil like hard evidence to reinstate religious beliefs in me.
hmm understandable, may be one day we will that evidence in science too. It all goes to what religious beliefs one has. The primitive man believed sun and stars to be the gods, but with better understanding of science it proved wrong.
