(Three forms are bad-
A buffalo with a curved back, a sheep with a long tail, a bearded woman)
Eho bal mivhal da, taan Allah beli mal da.
(If this is the state of the herdsman, Allah alone can protect the cattle.)
Du joi da maNaan, Darhi khodi te akkhon kaNaan.
(The Husband of two wives is thin bearded and one-eyed.)
Here’s one of my favorites:
***Amma babu da miTtha naa.
Opare chhik ke dhupp saTTin, apNe saTTin chha.
***(Mother and Father are sweet names.
Strangers drag one into the sun; relations bring one into the shade.)
JaTT vaddhe taan rah baddhe, kiraR vaddhe taan jaTT ku baddhe.
(When the jatt is prosperous, he closes up pathways (across and along his fields)
when the kirar is prosperous, he ties up the jatt (i.e he ties him up with debt)
