Hey there guys. My family (dada/dadi and nana/nani) is originally from Dera Gazi Khan in Multan. They moved to Delhi after the partition. My mom and I always discuss Multan, as I am always curious about my roots and culture. We have a huge group of pakistani friends in Houston, and alot of them are from Multan as well, so we are only able to identify about our background with people from Pakistan. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could tell me any history about Multan or characteristics of the people there? I’m just very curious about my heritage, and its difficult to find people who know anything about Multan – most people from India dont have any clue and therefore look down upon it. I love talking to people from Pakistan that know about the language in Multan (ive grown up listening to my mom, nani, and mamu speak in “derawali” as we call it.. i know its also called Saraye ki boli) Any little bit of info would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

- Gard (Dirt/ Dirt Storms)
- Gada (Beggars)
- Goristan. (Lots of Graveyards)
- Garmi (Heat)
