Islam we are stuck in is not based on the quran and hadith but on mullahs misinterpretions and misreprsentations.
Most recently nearly a century ago Allaama Iqbal pointed that out yet here we are still never bothered to learn the quran and hadith ourselves even after being educated in colleges and universities.
The quran does not contain list of laws because it is a text book for revolution with manifesto and a constitution to establish peace=islam in the world. All laws are left to people to make them within given limits in the quran as it suits ummah and that is called islamic shariah. Mullahs made laws for pleasing kings who paid them to set things for them

I am getting quite disconcerted with these sweeping posts you like to disseminate - to me these are no different to copy-paste antics. Do you think anyone will respond to everything you post in the way of links and talks by people? Please make your posts count and make them specific - the moment you see an opportunity to diss our ulema - calling them mullas you pounce on it … this post of yours is easily made a template post for the majority of topics we have in this forum and I feel they are breaching the spirit of discussion threads. What say you?
Peace dear psyah, as I understand things our beliefs affects us all when we act upon them. If our beliefs are conducive to our well being they are fine but if they are harmful and destructive then we must question their validity otherwise conflict is inevitable. We can never find peace on false or unrealistic foundations.
The damage done to humanity by imperialists and priestly classes is so very obvious. Imprialists or ruling elite has been damaging humanity through undue manipulation and exploitation on physical level through materialism ie by controlling livelihood of mankind and priestly classes have been installed and put to use to further the same through false sense of divine sanctions ie mullahs have been providing them with justifications in the name of God. Not only that but priestly classes have been inventing laws to create their own control system sanctioned by emperors to control individuals thereby. Even though this at times has caused power struggle between the kings and mullahs themselves. This is why sometimes kings rules over mullahs and sometimes mullahs ruled over kings.
When most people listen to mullahs instead of kings then mullahs take over power and when most people listen to kings because mullahs ruin them and they become unhappy then it is mullahs’ turn to be ruled by kings. However at times situation changes and both lose power over masses so people rule themselves.
This is obvious from history books eg see how christian rulers were controlled by the pope ie popes at times used to appoint kings. In later days people got rid of rule by absolute monarchs and got rid of religious interference in running of state affairs by way of bringing in secular democracy. However by way capitalism based economic system the power still went back in to the hands of ruling elite and mullahs are paid by them to bid for them. So today we are looking for way out again because cycle is almost complete and people are once again trapped.]
So this is not an issue between me and you but between all human beings because we are all part of a whole and whatever happens to the whole sooner or later affects all of us so keeping an eye on things is very important.
There is no sense in thinking within ourselves as individuals and insignificant rather we need to use our education and power of reason to find a better way of running the world affairs than let stupid people ruin our lives as they have been.
One does not become an aalim just by going to madrassa and getting some silly certificate just as one does not become aalim by going to oxford. It is the ideas you understand or come up with that make you aalim which are rational, and are able to convince people on basis of real knowledge about reality. Otherwise your educational institute has no validity with me and vice versa. It is because even educational institutions are not free of manipulation. Each family, community and nation sets up its own education system and what it wants to teach as it suits it and not for sole purpose of education. If we are sensible enough we do not run after people who are senseless themselves and try to turn us in to senseless lot so that they could then easily manipulate us at will. Instead we should respect those who really educate us for our own good and for the good of others, not just theirs own.
As for links in my posts they are educational and evidential so that people could see the point being made is valid and why it is valid. As you gather from my posts they seem odd to you likewise posts of people like you seem odd to people like me because I am more in to deen based thinking whereas you are more in to mazhab based thinking.
Ulema of deen are ulema not mullahs and mullahs’ belief is mullaiyat or may be you are not familiar with sir syed, iqbal, jinnah, parwez etc. Or may be you are not familiir with maulana, ishaq, dr tahir qadri, dr israr, dr khakwani and the like.
Dear kchughtai, my take on the issue of law is fully explained in the thread, have we understood quran properly? Just to respond to your inquiry. To form laws is duty of muslim shooraa not of any individual so called mufti or mullah. It is up to ummah as a whole to form its own laws as per guidelines or limits set by the quran according to its own needs.
The verses in the quran taken as family laws have nothing to do with family laws they are related to explanation of what constitution is and what its structures, systems, procedures and practices should be.
Mullah claim the quran is constitution of islam but because they misinterpreted the quran and related in their interpretations verses to private and family laws so now they are stuck with it unless they give up their nonsense aqeedahs.
This was explain by iqbal and also by jinnah when he was asked how islamic laws would be derived from the quran. The fight of mullahs with sir syed was all about whether the quran is rational or irrational. Sir syed won that fight against mullahs. Despite opening up few fronts against sir syed they failed to turn back the clock. Before sir syed mullah too quran as book of religious doctrines and rituals. This changed the muslim focus. iqbal followed sir syed. Mullahs fight with iqbal was also based whether islam is a deen or a mazhab. Iqbal also won against mullahs. The only thing that still causing problem is whether so called shariah that was invented in malukiyat time by malukiyati mullahs was really islamic law or not. According to iqbal it was not and the same point of view was held by jinnah and parwez like scholars of islam. Although mullahs nearly lost that fight but then due to creation of pakistan and troubles that were caused by british and india and usa etc did not give jinnah time to deal with issue of islamic law and then soon he died so feudals and their mullahs made a come back and that is what is responsible for situation of paksitan today.
pakistan ki haalat
As for laws for marriage and divorce it is job of pakistani muslims legislature to form laws not of mullahs to dictate laws from their fiqh books of old. This nation must come out of slavery of feudals and mullahs and peer etc. Anyone pushing ummah back in to ignorance and use and abuse is no friend of this ummah.
All muslims are equal and are supposed to be locked in brotherhood then why some take others as their masters or slaves?
For more please keep an eye on the other thread because I like explaining things than get in to purposeless tit for tat arguments. It is understading of the issue that convinces not fighting over the issues to prove each other wrong.
It therefore better for us to use our time to gather information as much as we can and if we have any information we should spend it putting it together sensibly according to some accepted rules of wisdom and develop our critical thinking ability and then see for ourselves what we believe or do, how sensible it actually is.
A person only oneself can convince oneself not others, others can only help with information and how to put it together and how to develop our own criticial faculty.
