With the ‘secular’ opposition (PPP-P, ANP, PKMAP etc) cosying upto President-General Musharraf I hear on the grapevine that Qazi Hussain and Nawaz Sharif are going to put forward Imran Khan as the leader of their new alliance.

I wish there was more public over sight into the finances of people who are elected or appointed. I mean, I still can't understand how do these politicians send their kids to study outside in universities that cost a leg and an arm and then declare less than a clerks salary when it comes to taxes.

One of his sons runs his old business in Peshawar, while he got his daughter elected as MNA on a reserved seat for women - thanks to Musharraf's pro-women amendments. His American-educated son is a deputy leader of a city branch of his pappa's party, and the other daughter is heavily involved in the JI as well. All in the family - to damn with scruples!. :)

I hope you know the story behind his son's visa being refused at first, and then Mr. Qazi, who is always lashing out against amreeka was so apologetic, and tried his best to cosy things up with an interviewer so that the decision was reversed ;) Both him and Maulana Diesel are hypocrites! Maulana Diesel who can be otherwise seen opposing women's rights and urging to lock them up also formed an alliance which whoteheartedly accepted BB as the prime minister.

what a bunch of hypcrites.imran khan used to be a strong opponent of sharif used to accuse of him corruption and what not,now hes going to team up with him.same goes for sharif he launched a character assasination campaign against imran khan when he first entered politics.

Does the name Sita White ring a bell with anybody?
She was the fair damsel who at the time of the 1996 elections in Pakistan showed up and announced that she was carrying Imran's child. After the elections were over and the Nawaz league asssumed power she disappeared from the public's view. Whether her claim was true or not, her appearance exactly at the time of the elections followed by the loud character assassinations of Imran by the Nawaz Leaguers is too much of a coincidence to many. Imran himself expressed his suspicions against the leaguers for putting up Sita White against him.

Mullahs have no choice but to put some one new as their leader in the opposition alliance.
They achieved nothing even after the threats to wihtdraw from the assembly.
