Um, excuse me. The area has been taken over by militants. They've taken down the flag, kicked out administrators and policemen, taken over infrastructure, are making their own laws, enforcing them themselves, recruiting people for war, screwing up the natural environment for the villagers, committing human rights crimes, and WHAT DO YOU WANT THE GOVERNMENT TO DO?
If the government doesn't do anything, you will criticize it.
If the government does something, you will criticize it.
IMHO, the government needs to evacuate the villages. Negotiate with the militants to let innocent civilians leave if they choose to, instead of forcing them to stay and get hurt. Then attack them. And intelligently, since they are fully armed. I say go in with tanks.
