Re: Mullah Radio the new chief of TTP
Feeling smug, are we?
Several of these links are from such illustrious sources as Daily Ummat, News Tribe etc. which are trying to put a spin on the reported clashes between Pakistan Army supported groups such as Ansar ul Mjahideen, Lashkar Tayyaba on TTP. These reported planned attacks and disowning reports are several months to years old. Did these attacks ever materialized? You believe that Taliban control most of Afghanistan particularly the eastern provinces, right? Why have they never attacked them or publicly disowned TTP? These links that you have posted direct the TTP to stop criminal activities like abduction for ransom etc. Quotes from the links you posted:
“A high-level delegation of the Afghan Taliban, sent by the Omar, “succeeded in bringing together different Pakistani militant groups on a single platform”, the report said.”
"the TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan revealed in a media briefing that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Ansar-ul-Islam and Mohmand Force is “conspiring” against them and that the TTP is not retaliating “because we do not want bloodshed”
“In an unprecedented move, Afghan Taliban Supreme Leader Mullah Mohammad Omar admitted recently that some of Taliban’s area commanders were involved in the business of kidnapping for ransom, bringing bad name to the Taliban movement.
“We need to understand that all those involved in this heinous crime were bringing bad name to the entire organisation of Taliban and we need to identify all of them,” Mullah Omar told his commanders through an audio message that was sent to all of his associates and area commanders.
Mullah Omer advised important commanders, including Hafiz Gull Bahader, Hakimullah Mehsood and all others who are working with the TTP to follow his instructions strictly or get ready to face the music.”
"When contacted, a close associate of Mullah Omar, confirmed the same to The Nation, adding the chief commander was perturbed on the reports that some of his commanders were involved in kidnapping for ransom.
Attempting to counter its reputation for the brutal suppression of the common man’s rights during the routine killings in tribal areas, Omar said: “Taliban will give all legitimate rights to all the accused in the light of the Islamic principles and our noble cause.”
Omar, through the audio message, claimed he received so many complaints about some commanders and the groups who were involved in the cases of abduction for ransom. He revealed that there some groups were even involved in the business of ‘hire to kill’.
“TTP spokesperson Ehsan Ullah Ehsan has confirmed the reports of expected attack and declared that TTP is working under Afghan commandants”
“Mullah Muhammad Omar has warned the commanders including Hafiz Gul Bahader, Hakimullah Mehsood and other TTP members to follow his instructions strictly or get ready to face the music.”
“Mullah Omer admitted earlier that some of Taliban’s area commanders were involved in the business of kidnapping for ransom, bringing bad name to the Taliban movement”
Looking beyond the headlines and the spin, these report actually show that TTP commanders operate under general guidelines from Mullah omar and Afghan Taliban.
That is why on the death of Mehsud, they said ““The Emirate strongly condemns the American terrorist attack and consider the martyrdom of Mulla Hakimullah Mehsud as a great loss and convey condolences to his family members, relatives and Taliban friends,” a statement issued by the Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said.”
This from Dawn: "The Afghan Taliban are financially supporting the Pakistani militants and providing sanctuary to them in Afghanistan, spokesman for the Pakistani Taliban has said. The disclosure, which the spokesman made on Saturday in an interview with a small group of reporters, is meaningful because Pakistan has long been accused of pursuing a policy of differentiating between the Afghan and Pakistan Taliban as so-called ‘good’ and ‘bad’ militants — even though Islamabad denies this.
“The Afghan Taliban are our jihadi brothers,” said Shahidullah Shahid in an interview in Waziristan, the Taliban’s main tribal sanctuary in Pakistan along the Afghan border.
“In the beginning, we were helping them, but now they are strong enough and they don’t need our help, but they are now supporting us financially.”
The Afghan Taliban were also providing sanctuary for a prominent Pakistani commander, Mullah Fazlullah, in eastern Afghanistan’s Kunar province, said Shahid.
The Pakistani Taliban have financed many of their attacks through a combination of kidnapping for ransom cases, extortion and bank robberies. But Shahid’s comments indicate these sources of financing do not always provide the funds they need.”
The news reports have always indicated that whenever TTP has internal fights, Mullah Omar have sent senior Afghan commanders such as Mullah Sangeen, Ustad Yasir etc to mediate and control the TTP groups. Would you like a series of links to show that?
