Mullah Radio the new chief of TTP

Re: Mullah Radio the new chief of TTP

Instead of praying for a drone from the much hated USA, why can’t Pakistan take care of this rat themselves? Why can’t Pakistan those fancy missiles into Kunar and Nuristan to solve this problem? Why couldn’t they find and kill Hakeemullah Mehsud in Pakistan’s sovereign territory? Americans are able to do that. Why couldn’t Pakistan arrest or kill every one of the Taliban Shura member? They were meeting in North Waziristan after Hakeemullah Mehsud’s death and are actually the head of the TTP. Does Pakistan not know who they are and where they were meeting?

This report indicates Pakistan have a pretty good idea about the whereabouts of Fazlullah. Why don’t they fire one of the Ghori/Ghaznavi/Babur missile up his ass?

Fazlullah?s appointment backed by Mullah Omar: report - DAWN.COM

According to sources quoted in the report, the 17-member central shura held several sessions for three days to reach a consensus on appointing a new chief as up to six commanders were vying for the position. The deadlock was however broken by Mullah Omar, considered “Ameerul Momineen” by the TTP, who stepped in and named Fazlullah as the man for the job.

**Fazlullah is said to have a closer relationship with Mullah Omar than any other member of the TTP and carries a five million rupees bounty on his head which was announced by the Pakistani government.
**
His appointment is considered a major win for the anti-talks proponents within the TTP as Fazlullah has been the most vocal member to oppose talks with the Pakistani government.

TTP to launch wave of revenge attacks in Pakistan - DAWN.COM

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) announced on Friday they would orchestrate a wave of revenge attacks against the government afternaming hardline commander Mullah Fazlullah as their new leader.

The rise of Fazlullah, who is known for his ruthless reputation and rejection of peace talks, by the Taliban shura (leadership council) a day earlier, follows the killing of the outlawed outfit’s previous leader Hakimullah Mehsud in a US drone strike on Nov 1.

“We will target security forces, government installations, political leaders and police,” Asmatullah Shaheen, head of the shura and caretaker leader of the TTP, told Reuters by telephone from an undisclosed location.
**
He said the Taliban’s main target included army and government installations in Punjab province, the political stronghold of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

“We have a plan. But I want to make one thing clear. We will not target civilians, bazaars or public places. People do not need to be afraid,” Shaheen added.**

What other countries have porous border with another country occupied by another country with many countries interested in destabilizing the other country?

Re: Mullah Radio the new chief of TTP

Its very upsetting. I like radio.
I want fazullah to be named differently.
nation new paper called him butcher of sawat.

Re: Mullah Radio the new chief of TTP

How can Mullah Umar support Radio? Does not make sense to me … looks like a table story :hmmm:

Re: Mullah Radio the new chief of TTP

He is living in Eastern Afghanistan for the past three years, and yields a lot of influence. Mujeeb ur Rahman Shami was saying a similar thing yesterday, due to the Afghanistan factor he has got the support of over 80 people (from around 90) for the post.

Re: Mullah Radio the new chief of TTP

He has been living in Kunar as a guest of Taliban there. No surprises there. Pretty straight forward who is supporting him. Did you read the statement of Taliban on Hakeem ullah Mehsud? Have Mullah Omar ever issued a statement against TTP? Taliban have always mediated TTP disputes, appointed commanders and provided moral, logistical and military support to TTP. TTP have always claimed allegiance to the Ameerul Momineen Mullah Omar. It is only the delusion of some Pakistan that believe Taliban on one side of border are separate and different from Taliban of the other side of the border.

Re: Mullah Radio the new chief of TTP

Feeling smug, are we?

Several of these links are from such illustrious sources as Daily Ummat, News Tribe etc. which are trying to put a spin on the reported clashes between Pakistan Army supported groups such as Ansar ul Mjahideen, Lashkar Tayyaba on TTP. These reported planned attacks and disowning reports are several months to years old. Did these attacks ever materialized? You believe that Taliban control most of Afghanistan particularly the eastern provinces, right? Why have they never attacked them or publicly disowned TTP? These links that you have posted direct the TTP to stop criminal activities like abduction for ransom etc. Quotes from the links you posted:

“A high-level delegation of the Afghan Taliban, sent by the Omar, “succeeded in bringing together different Pakistani militant groups on a single platform”, the report said.”
"the TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan revealed in a media briefing that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Ansar-ul-Islam and Mohmand Force is “conspiring” against them and that the TTP is not retaliating “because we do not want bloodshed”
“In an unprecedented move, Afghan Taliban Supreme Leader Mullah Mohammad Omar admitted recently that some of Taliban’s area commanders were involved in the business of kidnapping for ransom, bringing bad name to the Taliban movement.
“We need to understand that all those involved in this heinous crime were bringing bad name to the entire organisation of Taliban and we need to identify all of them,” Mullah Omar told his commanders through an audio message that was sent to all of his associates and area commanders.
Mullah Omer advised important commanders, including Hafiz Gull Bahader, Hakimullah Mehsood and all others who are working with the TTP to follow his instructions strictly or get ready to face the music.”
"When contacted, a close associate of Mullah Omar, confirmed the same to The Nation, adding the chief commander was perturbed on the reports that some of his commanders were involved in kidnapping for ransom.
Attempting to counter its reputation for the brutal suppression of the common man’s rights during the routine killings in tribal areas, Omar said: “Taliban will give all legitimate rights to all the accused in the light of the Islamic principles and our noble cause.”
Omar, through the audio message, claimed he received so many complaints about some commanders and the groups who were involved in the cases of abduction for ransom. He revealed that there some groups were even involved in the business of ‘hire to kill’.
“TTP spokesperson Ehsan Ullah Ehsan has confirmed the reports of expected attack and declared that TTP is working under Afghan commandants”
“Mullah Muhammad Omar has warned the commanders including Hafiz Gul Bahader, Hakimullah Mehsood and other TTP members to follow his instructions strictly or get ready to face the music.”
“Mullah Omer admitted earlier that some of Taliban’s area commanders were involved in the business of kidnapping for ransom, bringing bad name to the Taliban movement”

Looking beyond the headlines and the spin, these report actually show that TTP commanders operate under general guidelines from Mullah omar and Afghan Taliban.
That is why on the death of Mehsud, they said ““The Emirate strongly condemns the American terrorist attack and consider the martyrdom of Mulla Hakimullah Mehsud as a great loss and convey condolences to his family members, relatives and Taliban friends,” a statement issued by the Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said.”

This from Dawn: "The Afghan Taliban are financially supporting the Pakistani militants and providing sanctuary to them in Afghanistan, spokesman for the Pakistani Taliban has said. The disclosure, which the spokesman made on Saturday in an interview with a small group of reporters, is meaningful because Pakistan has long been accused of pursuing a policy of differentiating between the Afghan and Pakistan Taliban as so-called ‘good’ and ‘bad’ militants — even though Islamabad denies this.
“The Afghan Taliban are our jihadi brothers,” said Shahidullah Shahid in an interview in Waziristan, the Taliban’s main tribal sanctuary in Pakistan along the Afghan border.
“In the beginning, we were helping them, but now they are strong enough and they don’t need our help, but they are now supporting us financially.”
The Afghan Taliban were also providing sanctuary for a prominent Pakistani commander, Mullah Fazlullah, in eastern Afghanistan’s Kunar province, said Shahid.
The Pakistani Taliban have financed many of their attacks through a combination of kidnapping for ransom cases, extortion and bank robberies. But Shahid’s comments indicate these sources of financing do not always provide the funds they need.”

The news reports have always indicated that whenever TTP has internal fights, Mullah Omar have sent senior Afghan commanders such as Mullah Sangeen, Ustad Yasir etc to mediate and control the TTP groups. Would you like a series of links to show that?

Re: Mullah Radio the new chief of TTP

Yes I am :mocking:

TTP also supports Afghan Taliban against US, may be that is how they win their support on occasions. The real danger to Pakistan is not from Afghan Taliban but JI, JUI (read the statements of Munawar Hasan, Fazlur Rahman).

Re: Mullah Radio the new chief of TTP

:hoonh:
The danger to Pakistan is from the mentality and ideology which is the binding factor for Mullah Omar, TTP, JI, JUI, etc.

In September, Umar Studio released a video interview with Khalid. In that video, he castigated media coverage of the Taliban; accused Pakistani intelligence, the US, and Blackwater of conducting attacks against civilians; justified attacks against military-run mosques; and said that Afghan Taliban emir Mullah Omar is not at odds with the Pakistani Taliban’s operations. “The Emir of the Believers Mullah Omar Mujahid, may Allah preserve him, supports the Pakistani Jihad, and there is no truth in the absurd propaganda raised in the media that the Emir of the Believers is angry with the Taliban because of their conducting jihad in Pakistan,” Khalid said, accordign to a translation of the video by the SITE Intelligence Group. “The Emir of the Believers Mullah Omar Mujahid sacrificed his government to protect one person [Osama bin Laden], so how can he betray thousands of others. This statement is not said by any reasonable person and is devoid of truth.”

Re: Mullah Radio the new chief of TTP

At the end of the day, it depends upon us if we want to believe it but there is some sort of collaboration between Afghan taleban and TTP. Its not a coincidence that TTP is present in Pakistani areas (of SWA/NWA Mullah Nazir and Hafiz Gulbahadur's stronghholds and Kunar/Nuristan jointly with Afghan taleban.

Once the US pulls its forces out (from Afghanistan) and taleban is able to carve out a territory within Afghanistan, I dont think the buck would stop there. The government and military should remain open to all eventualities.

Re: Mullah Radio the new chief of TTP

Didn't we blame US at one point for leaving grounds open by retreating to TTP running away from Pakistan? or now are we saying that US = Afghan Taliban + TTP working against Pakistan?

Re: Mullah Radio the new chief of TTP

why is that a problem? if US $$$$ can buy tribesmen on one side of the Durand line, why couldn’t they buy the ones on the other side just as easily too?

like frand Zafra says in every post, US has been talking for two years to Afghan Taliban. :ahaa:

Re: Mullah Radio the new chief of TTP

I think every one is double crossing the other. When US leaves the equation who do you think the Afghan taleban would support? Pakistan or TTP?

Re: Mullah Radio the new chief of TTP

Interesting last few lines.

However Afghan Taliban would need Pakistan's support to survive so I don't think they'll collude much with TTP.

Re: Mullah Radio the new chief of TTP

why is that?

Re: Mullah Radio the new chief of TTP

Just looking back at the pre-Sept 11 times. Personally they should get zero support but that's not how itll work. I doubt the West will pander to them for long after they leave and I doubt Iran will be clamoring to be all mates with them, Afghanistan being a landlocked country would need support. I doubt they can sustain themselves for very long on their own, if at all.

I may be completely wrong however, just a guess.
