Based in Eastern Afghanistan, whose men carried out most of the attacks in recent times including the one on General Niazi. Amongst the groups which do not want to talk to Pakistan we have got this group and TTP Mohmand (Umar Khorasani). These groups were driven out of the country, hence their opposition to talks. A few days ago a report surfaced that RAW, CIA and Afghanistan’s intelligence are supporting these groups. If TTP goes to Fazlullah, should the government still talk to them?

I'll add one more thing, how ever bad Hakeemullah was, he was allowed to live until he was creating problems for Pakistan. As soon as he decided to sit for talks, he was eliminated. US has got what it wanted out of this.
APC calls for talks and Fazlullah's men kill general Niazi, Imran calls for talks and three blasts in one week rock Peshawar silencing every one (in fact creating an atmosphere where even thinking of talks became impossible), and now a day before actual talks (mind you they might not have achieved anything in the end) Hakeemullah is murdered.
Fazlullah being in Eastern Afghanistan (having CIA/RAW's support) knows that his lifeline depends on the US line. The day he moves away from their camp, it would just take one drone to take him out.
The social media is rife with these news, if it is true then thats the end of negotiations. Salute to our friend USA.

The signal is obvious, who so ever will try to talk to Pakistan will be eliminated. Otherwise Fazlullah is in Afghanistan for the past three years, why has no drone been sent his way?

a) Unless the TTP are very dumb that they can't see all this when all of us can
or
b) They're all sold out and the peace talks were a drama

This is an interesting development if true:
US and Afghanistan have been blaming Pakistan of harboring Haqqani Network in the country, and that the main leaders of Afghan taleban are in Pakistan.
With TTP going over to Fazlullah, they have got even.
Taleban on both sides have now virtually become proxies of the neighbours (Afghanistan and Pakistan).
Now time will tell which country will be able to use which country as Strategic depth!

I am inclined to go with b
The main test for the new chief would be to take the various militant groups together, the most lethal among them (the Punjabi taleban) which provide them the reach in urban areas. We will see in the time to come if his selection will unite the organization or weaken it.

And more Pakistanis will die. The drone strike destroyed chances of peace and got in to power someone who will never agree to peace talks. More importantly it is someone the US has said they don’t even want to target regardless of the fact they know where he is.

That is pretty much true. It is the US that has gotten rid of more enemies of Pakistan than Pakistani governments themselves.
It is the US that has gotten rid of more enemies of Islam than Muslim clergy and mullahs themselves.
If it were up to majority of Pakistanis and the government, Pakistan would have accepted Talibanic rule and capitulated in front of them. That would have been a scene, with Nawaz and Imran sitting with Taliban leaders in strict obedience.

It wasn't Hakeemullah wishing to talk to Pakistan. It was Pakistan government itself that was willing to surrender in front of him.
Pakistan was negotiating a deal for surrender with him.
Pakistan can still work with them. It just has to do what people like Imran are itching to do. Stop NATO supplies, start bringing down drones, accept secession of FATA and KPK, and work with Taliban against Afghan government. All is not lost.

It won't. And mark my words the US will not kill Fazullah. They haven't even though they know exactly where he is in Nuristan. So all of you praying the US kills him, they won't. They haven't for years while they worked in Afghanistan.
