Muli paratha

Hey everyone…I was just wondering if anyone had a recipe for muli ka paratha?Hubby wants it for breakfast on the weekend and im a little unsure of the recipe…THANKS!

Re: Muli paratha

Do you know how to make filled parahta's in general?
Just buy the mooli (Long white one) and grate into a bowl. Once grated, try to swueeze out the excess water, maybe with a strainer or hands. Then add your favorite masala.
I add lots of chopped Coriander, podina, 2-3 chopped hot peppers, salt, red pepper, black pepper, thania(coriander powder), a little bit of zeera sometimes. Make the 2 "peray"(balls of dough & roll out into maybe a 4 inch circle. Put some filling in the middle of one and put the second roti on top. try to close the edges & getly roll out so its a bit thinner.
heat oil on tava & fry as u would any parahta. yummy with yogurt!! :)

Re: Muli paratha

i have never made them myself, but my mom makes them quite often...she makes them just as Afro said...but she adds one or 2 boiled and mashed potatoes to the mix too....so that the grated mooli kinda stays together and doesn't fall out....

Re: Muli paratha

thanks guys..you've made my life a lot easier. I dont know why i was under the impression that you have to cook the muli first...but this is great!

Re: Muli paratha

Its 2 ways to do this, ive never done it myself though. Ive just seen ammi ji and nani ammi make it:) They both used their own way to make it.

One is like that Afro-Sheen mentioned - here u will have to add extra spices cuz when u make the paratha u have two rotis and the muli in the middle of this. So to taste the muli u will have to add extra amount of spices so u really can taste it between two rotis.

Second is the one agar aapne muli ka salan pehle se banaya hua ho then u can use it in the parathas. U cook the muli as u make any salan like alo gobi and so on.. If u make it this way, uve already have cooked the muli with the spices so no need of extra when ur making the paratha.

Hope this was for ur help:)
