Re: Muhammad teddy bear news story
Please read the news item you have posted yourself. The objection is to someone MEDITATING to a piece of chicken. If you want to comparison, it is the same as someone spreading a prayer rug and praying to a piece of meat. Do you think you need a law for this?
Secondly, you can see in your own example how the Hindus dealt with it - by complaining about it; not calling for beheading the actress or the producers.
I truly hope you can see the difference?
Stir, I did provide you with a relative similiar incident. THe very reason no one called for beheading and stoning is (apart of many others) poverty, illitracity (mentioned in my above post).
It's just to provide you with prove, that some take It too personal.

Finally, please put yourself in that teacher's shoe and think through the conversation she had with the kids. I'll paint the scenario:
Teach: Kids, what name have you chosen?
Kids: Teacher teacher, we chose our beloved prophet's name, we all so love him and respect him
Teach: No kids, that is wrong...let's name him Barny

You are absolutely right on this. THe very first time I heard the song Aisha from Khaled, where some Mullahs stated It's against our prophets (saw) wife, thus It's blasphemy. I was the least to agree on this. (Maybe you remember this case too).
I feel sorry for her being in this miserable situation. But then, never expect to be as free as in your own country. You have to realize you always be a foreigner. No matter how much you are attached to It. IT's something I had to learn, when we migrated to Europe. I have lots of freedom of what I could have only dreamed of being in my own Country. ANd hell I'm proud of It.
But aren't we all here, since we do care about freedom of speech?
My opinion and my views consider respect and accept laws, traditions, cultures and religions of the place you live at.
Although I don't have to agree with lots of fuzzy topics concerning internal and external policies of my and other countries.

Ali_R, what exactly do you think the riots next day will be for? She would have mean made mincemeat for denying the kids' love for the prophet. The riot monkeys will be yelling for expulsion and worse because western catholics are coming to their land and are denying islam for their kids.

Back to what I first mentioned:
Brain washed, misguided, enforced extremism, farnishes, war aggrieved. And with surpassing media attention everything even worsens (America must be happy right now). What do you expect then?
And Stir be honest, the same issue some where in Georgia and you would have heard nothing. Not a single peep.
