I thought 15 day sentence was appropriate, but Britian had to make something of that too, and now it's turning into religious or national pride thing.
In North Carolina, a man is charged with running a meth lab, which typically carries a prison sentence of 6 months, but a new state law, prompted by Patriot Act, classifies the meth-lab ingredients as chemical weapons of mass destruction. As a result, Martin Dwayne Miller is facing 12 years to life in prison. But this far more ridiculous story never made it to the mainstream media.
At least, deportation would keep her from bringing her dog to the class next time, and asking the children what they would like to name it.
In the US, the unexplainable defenses usually go "devil made me do it", in Sudan it's "children made me do it."
